Realistically: Alston/Dooling/Boone

Alston's available, but he's the last player I would want.  Talented, but a headcase who's likely to chafe playing behind Rondo.  Remember how worried Orlando was about bring Jameer Nelson back for the finals because of how it might mess up Alston?

He's fourth on my list of players that I really, really, REALLY dislike.  He might be third, above Z-Bo.

But it didn't.

Plus, with him, you could easily convince him that a solid bench roll on the Celtics will get him more attention then a bench roll with NJ.  Just look at Posey and Davis.

Alston is a good player and a serviceable backup, but I prefer Dooling.  Better fit with the rest of our bench.

Yup Dooling would be a nice player to add to the rotation.  Solid PG who plays defense hard.

Boone has health issues.
Williams is a inconsistent nut

I rather Keyon Dooling in combo with Courtney Lee (if No Return of Marbury)

or

Courtney Lee & Tony Battie (If Marbury returns)

Who would you want? I wish we could get Courtney Lee!

Keyon Dooling, Sean Williams, their 2010 2nd round pick.

I'm intrigued by this sean williams guy. He has Josh Smith "potential", but is it worth losing Glen for a lunatic.

I agree.  If they move Davis, the key piece coming back has to be a player in the rotation, not a project.

he's not the key piece -- dooling is. you guys wouldn't like him as our back-up 1? he's a great fit. and that 2nd rounder is likely to be high as the nets have some talent but they're young and unlikely to win alot of games.

Exactly, he was the key piece they got in return for Vince Carter, there is no chance that he is traded for Big Baby in a S&T.
do it

Out of their roster, the only guys I see available and useful to use us are a combination of Yi, Sean Williams, Jarvis Hayes and POSSIBLY Keyon Dooling. I like BBD but I would rather fill a 2 holes for 1 if it meant filling out our roster better...

Personally I prefer Jarvis Hayes and Sean Williams. Hayes backups Pierce as a good 3 point shooter and long enough to learn defense. Sean Williams, head case or not, can be taught to channel his energy by KG and live up to his potential. Plus I expect Marbury back in green soon enough. So S/t BBD to 5 mil contract for 2 or 3 years and Pruitt for Jarvis and Sean. My other option would be BBD for Yi straight up. He'd be a project but he's a larger player with range.

Rondo, Marbury
Ray, Marquis Daniels, House, Giddens
Pierce, Jarvis Hayes, BWalker
KG, Sean Williams, Powe
Perk, Sheed                               1 Open spot for Free agent
Can't stop, Rondo!

Not likely to happen.

Dooling and a promising big man (Boone/Williams) for Davis makes a lot of sense especially when you consider that there are more options at PF who can take our LLE.

IMO ... Dooling, House, and Daniels is a really good backup 1,2,3 position AND Rasheed is my favorite to win the 6th man of the year.
