Found this at my favorite Hoopshype...

Brandan Wright and Belinelli, both deep in Nelson's doghouse as they head into their third seasons, could be unofficial Dead Warriors Walking after Oct. 31. That's the deadline for the Warriors to pick up their fourth-year options. No pick-up means the player becomes an unrestricted free agent next summer. It's your basic shout of no-confidence. Even if one or both players' options are picked up, look for Nelson and Riley to try to move both. San Jose Mercury News

I love the idea of going after this guy. Surely we could put together a trade scenario to get him...plus Daniels. How bout a 3 way trade...

Boston sends BBD(3.5m) and Tony Allen to GSW
Boston sends Pruitt and Scalabrine to IND
GSW sends Belinelli and Brandon Wright to Boston
IND s/t M Daniels(5.25m) to Boston

Rondo, Belinelli, Hudson/Lofton
Ray, House, Giddens
Pierce, Daniels, BWalker
KG, Powe(resign) Wright
Perk, Sheed, Free Agent(Drew Gooden, Ben Wallace, Mikki Moore)
Can't stop, Rondo!

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I don't think Belinelli (or however you spell that) is really much of a point, but sure, I think looking into him next year wouldn't be a terrible idea. Seems like it should be the last thing on danny's mind though.

This would be a good trade if we were building for the future, but I don't think management would be comfortable with Brandan Wright as our 4th big.  Wright's got talent but is still way too soft to hang with quality bigs in the playoffs.  Bellineli hasn't shown a whole lot either.  I'm not sure the Warriors would take that deal as BBD's game overlaps a lot with Turiaf's, too.  I think we're gonna try to resign BBD and maybe pickup one more backcourt guy, probably a PG.

I think I'd rather have Brandan Wright than Bellinelli, honestly.  I'm still intrigued by his potential.

Not a fan of either.  wright looks soft and paizano has not shown me he has nba point potential.

I'd rather have neither, though I'm partial to Italians. Wright just doesn't have it. It's a bad trade.  We'd give up way more quality than we'd get back.  I think GS is a possible trade partner, but that trade's not in our best interest.

Is Sheldon Williams still with Sacramento?  Heck, he's never going to play there. Why not offer nearly nothing to the Kings for him?

I don't remember why i remember this, but i can vouch for you on Brandan Wright. for some reason, I remember when we were in post Draft Lotto hell in 07 you were picking up the pieces with the possibility that he might be the right choice if we kept that pick.

he really hasn't gotten a chance yet but has shown some flashes. so there's still time for him. for whatever reason, he's been in Nellie's doghouse quite a bit.

too bad because he has shown skills. not sure where he fits now that they have Randolph.

I prefer a shooter off the bench. I don't really want guys coming in that need the ball in their hands to get going scoring-wise. that's why i'm not totally sold on Daniels as our bench wing.

but I think we are too far down that road right now and don't see us adding another wing like Belinelli in addition to Daniels. my bet is that like Mikki, in order to get Daniels to sign here, he was promised a prominent role off the bench at least to start the season.

not totally down on Daniels, but personally I just prefer bench players to be shooters because they are easier to get going in the flow of an offense.

guys that need to create with the ball can really throw an offense out of whack coming in cold. think about TA trying to force his drives when he would come in cold....

if we could land wright with the parts we have, it'd be a great deal.

Ewww No.  The kid wasnt much of a player in college.  I would like to know how many points were scored off of wide open transition dunks.  His stats were way overrated and now there is a reason why he is sitting on the bench in golden state.

Any chance of GS blowing it up this year and giving away Stephen Jackson?

Pros - Can defend. Play some pg. Hit 3's. Get a hot streak fast.

Cons - Contract. Makes too many flashy passes. Always looks to take a 3

I don't understand why people criticize Jackson's contract.  I've read that he has a bad contract at least a half dozen times on this board, and I never quite get it.  Sure, he's signed for four years, but he's only getting paid roughly $8.5 million per season.  I think that's very reasonable for what Jackson brings to the table.
