I don't get the whole "using Daniels as a PG thing". According to 82games.com he played a little PG in 07-08 when Indiana was desperate because all they had was Denier and Tinsley but other than that he's been a SG or SF.

Let's not confuse being able to handle the ball well with being a team's primary back up PG because he can't do that. Daniels I feel will be a great pick up to do exactly what this team needed which was spell Ray and Paul and still be effective. He's a great pick up in that sense. But this team still needs another big(Baby, Joe Smith, Rasho Nesterovic) and a back up PG.

Some of you guys are ignoring the fact that players will only be content with a certain amount of playing time. I wouldn't be shocked If Danny just resigned BBD and called it a day. A ten man rotation only works in video games (barely in 2k). Sheed, and Daniels are going to want more than just 10-13 minutes. What we should be looking to pick up are serviceable vets who wouldn't mind riding the pine.

Garnet 34

Assuming this is the starters minutes we have 72 minutes left to go around. 12 behind Rondo, 13 at each wing position, 34 at the PF/C. These guys are going to expect to play a certain amount of minutes, House probably wants 10-15, Daniel 15-20, Sheed 25-30, Baby probably 15-20. After these guys get their minutes their isn't going to be much left, bringing in someone else who is going to demand minutes won't work.

I think Nellie used him at point in Dallas when Nash was hurt, his first season, and he did quite well.  Not his primary role, obviously, however.

Not really because Garnett hasn't averaged anywhere near 34 MPG since he has been here, Perk is going to have his numbers limited because of shoulder woes and it's likely with Daniels aboard that Paul and Ray will be slightly lower minutes.

My immediate thought when Daniels was signed was, hmmm we still need an athletic scoring and shooting three. I think Daniels will play alongside Eddie alot and be used as a PG on offense and a SG on defense which I think would be a great idea. I'd love to see a sign and trade of Tony and Scal for Daniels, then a sign and trade with Baby for someone like Travis Outlaw then use the LLE on a power forward/ center type big man and really make that bench something special.

Outside of take pressure off House with the reserves, he is not the answer for backup PG.  That's why I like a player like Carter.  Able to step in and start for short stretches.  He is not going to replace Rondo, but he would make sure the team doesn't implode because of PG play.

I like Carter and think he would be a great addition. I think Flip Murray would be another as would C J Watson but I hear he is looking Orlando's way

If he's signed he's the backup 4 possibly some backup 5 too.

In my mind I have been hoping that PP and Ray's min are closer to 30min than to 35 min.  I wouldn't mind if the back-ups end up being good enough that we could sit one of the big three for an entire game a few times during the season.

In the playoffs it is a different story, bench mins would go way down.
