TA for Urik and George

Save Toronto 450,000 (plus tax)  They already replaced Urik position with Jack (as long as the Pacers do not match.

For the Celtics, they bring in a young tall PG that can play next to House if he improves in his second year.  Not much of a shooter, but could be an ok defender against SGs (outside of the elite SGs) because of his size.

George is a throw in for saleries, but could earn the spot of 4th swingman because of his shot and defense.

And as an added bonus, if they do not work out, both are expiring so combined with Scali and the young swingman, the Celtics still have a good chunk of expiring money to play with at the trade deadline.

Don`t really see this as an upgrade. Ukic is inexperienced and I think we need a vet PG. And with Daniels I don`t see the need for George anymore.

I think we can do a little better with TA`s expiring contract...

True.  But like I said, if it doesn't work, the Celtics can combine those two expiring contracts, which is worth 450,000 more then TA.  So, the Celtics are not losing out on the trade flexibility at the deadline.  They are basically getting a free look at how Urik could fit next to House.

Plus, I do think George is an upgrade on TA in terms of fit for the bench.  He is a much bigger defender (which is nice when the two main challanges in the East have Lebron and Lewis).  He is a better outside shooter (from the corner only).

Lots of projects, yes.  But the Celtics have addressed the main reserves already.  And the trade sends out a player I think will be out of the rotation and replaces him with a better fit (in George)
