Apparently Utah has interest in Baby to back up Millsap. We know Miami wants Boozer. And we're interested in Moon, and size. Here's how it goes down:

BOS Trades (salary out - 8.975mil):

Baby signed for 4.5mil for 3 years
Scal (3.4mil, 1 year)
TA (2.5mil, 1 year)
Pruitt (825k option, 1 year)
2011 1st round pick

BOS receives (salary coming in - 11.2mil):

Moon signed for 3.15 mil for 2 years
Haslem (7.1mil, 1 year)
Diawara (945k, 1 year)

Utah trades (salary out - 12.6mil):

Boozer (12.6, 1 year)

Utah receives (salary in - 12.825mil):

Baby signed for 4.5 mil for 3 years
Greg Buckner (4.1mil, 1mil guaranteed, 1 year)
Scal (3.4, 1 year)
Pruitt (825k option, 1 year)

Miami trades (salary out - 10.67mil):

Moon signed for 3.15mil for 2 years
Haslem (7.1mil, 1 year)
Quinn (1.05mil, 1 year)
Diawara (945k, 1 year)
2010 2nd round pick

Miami receives (salary in - 12.6mil):

Boozer (12.6, 1 year)

Dallas trades (salary out - 4.1mil):

Buckner (4.1mil, 1 year)

Dallas receives (salary in - 3.55mil):

TA (2.5, 1 year)
Quinn (1.05mil, 1 year)
Cs 2011 1st round pick
Heat 2010 2nd round pick
cash

This should work under both cap and BYC rules.

Utah cuts Pruitt and Buckner before their deals become guaranteed, saving them 4mil in salary, or 8mil in overall money considering the lux tax. They get Baby and Scal (a Sloan type of player).

Miami dumps junk and Haslem to get Boozer.

Boston deals Baby, scraps and a pick for Moon, Haslem and Diawara.

Dallas gets picks, TA and cash from Boston and Miami to cover some of their costs. While complicated this works pretty well for all involved.

Not to bad.  Can pick up Buckner after he is waived.

Can the Celtics send cash to Miami to buy out Scali as well so he can return.

Don't see why Dallas gets Boston's 1st.

i think Dallas needs motivation to do the deal. Do we really care about the 25th pick in 2011? With Diawara and Moon, we no longer have a need for Scal. The last order of business would be to go out and get a back-up PG or two -- maybe Marcus Williams and Lue.

Yes, they should.

Yeah, if losing all of your bench is a win, Miami will do this!

Chris Quinn doesn't play. Diawara plays behind Beasley and James Jones, as does Moon. It's basically Haslem and Moon for Boozer. Do you really feel Miami wouldn't sacrifice this group of players to get Boozer? Think Wade would do the deal?

Miami has a logjam at the 2/3 already and would be replacing Haslem with Boozer.

Miami was already talking about moving haslem for boozer, and they talked to us about baby for moon...i think they'd do it, and i think this looks like it could be an interesting deal for each team.

While Ilike this trade for all involved I do have one question. You say in your post that Miami deals Haslem and Junk to get Boozer. Does that mean, in your opinion that Moon and Diawara are Junk. If that is the case, why would the Celtics want to make this trade?

Wow, that definately works for us, not sure about the rest of the teams. Why does Dallas need to get involved again?

I think it seems reasonable to every team though. Get a PG for that team and it's set to win # 18..

Sorry, no. In my opinion Moon is a GREAT fit for the Cs -- good defense, versitile, shoots pretty well, lots of energy, low turnovers. And Diawara is a pretty good end-of-bench defender.

My point is more that these guys are not core players in Miami -- not Quinn, not Diawara, and considering their depth on the wing with Beasley playing the 3, not Moon.

The Greg Buckner deal is desirable, as it's only partially guaranteed. They'll be out look to see what they can get for it before it becomes fully vested.

To be honest i keep seeing Moon's name come up, but I really haven't seen him play enough to form much of an opinion. As for Diawara, well I've never heard of him. Thanks for the imput.
