Sadly I think the Celtics won't be making any moves until they know what is going on with BBD. If he leaves we might have a bigger budget for a S&T. Or have to use the LLE on a big rather than a SF.

So I think we're going to have to twiddle our typing fingers for a while longer. On the plus side Lakers fans are freaking about about Lamar Odom.

i think the only person who can make this happen is Moon. a s&t is not going to happen -- Miami doesn't want to add payroll. and the Heat will still likely match an LLE offer, despite their desire to stay out of the lux tax and keep flexibility for 2010. so Moon is going to have to work for it with the Heat if he expects to get away to the Celtics.

Yeah, an S+T still puts them over the threshold without a buyout.  Why would they take someone like TA if their options are A. Keep TA and go into luxury tax territory (though they'll get him off the books next year) or B. Buy TA out and spend the buyout money on essentially nothing.  Only an S+T for a pick or cash makes sense, and I think they have to take salary back in such a scenario due to their payroll (someone more knowledgeable can correct me though).

I agree that a 2- or 3-year LLE would call Miami's bluff - I think they let him go rather than go over the threshold this year and hurt their cap space in '10 with a glut of small forwards already on their roster.
LLE contracts are limited to two years, right?

yes
