Shouldn't the Sox sign Bay ASAP? Plus are Giddens and Walker ready to play? They better be. We discuss tonight at 6 30 on ST

twits like this are insubstantial speculation. He's just saying they'll be needed..and he's right.

It would be cool if Tanguay would admit how wrong he was about Grant Hill as strongly as he repeatedly stroked himself about being "first" on Sheed.

His information wasn't wrong, it was quite accurate. His gut was the only thing that missed, and not by much. But pretty much everything he brought forward as information was accurate.

I think he has played the rumor game quite well this off season.

Keep in mind that I think Gary sucks.

I watched the show. He said Grant Hill will be a Celtic. Repeatedly. The gut think was about Sheed. He spoke in absolutes regarding Hill and that was silly. He got a little overzealous with his abilities. Rumors are great. Just don't speak in absolutes. He reported that "Hill will be a Celtic. Grant Hill will be a Celtic by the end of the week." He was wrong on his report. Should of said the rumor was that it was a possibility.

NO... The GUT thing WAS ABOUT GRANT HILL... He was saying that HE REALLY THINKS Grant Hill would be coming here so he said he KNOWS he would be coming here because 9/10 players in Grant Hill's position would have come here... but that was all on his GUT... RASHEED'S WAS ON FACTS... I DON'T KNOW WHAT SHOW YOU WATCHED BUT THE ONE I DID WAS SPORTS TONIGHT.

Sorry, but your wrong. Look up old posts on Sheed and you'll find the original Tanguay gut jokes. Hill might have been a second gut moment lol, but he said Hill will be a Celtic.

At some point we're gonna have to get some home grown talent backing up Pierce and Allen. Why not give them a shot then sign or trade for someone else at the deadline.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

no god PLEASE...2 career D leaguers won't be good enough for boston to win the title..if that is their plan then we will have a hole at wing all season
"Career D leagers"? They are only in their second season, and Walker spent more time with the C's than in the D league.

Doesn't seem to be any rumor involved in that tweet.

giddens and walker and tony just are not the answer to get big minutes at the wing. i can see many leads evaporating very quickly with those guys on the court. yes they have been in the league one season..but when boston needed bodies last year they didnt get a sniff...doc elected to keep playing PP 40 plus a game...walker is an athlete..period. has not shown any ability to play defense or make a midrange jumper...and giddens is a D league all star...he couldnt get minutes when boston had 7 healthy guys...do you think one offseason and a summer league is going to propel them into being the answer for 15-20 minutes a night? and tony stinks..period.

because THEY ARE NOT good enough! and there is no lock boston will be able to find someone half way through the season...i don't think this team needs to experiment with 2 undersized, lacking guys for half a season. keep one, get a vet wing and lets go

Also wouldn't you have said Hill will be a Celtic if the teams were between New York, Phoenix, and Boston in which one of those franchises right now is arguably the worst franchise in the NBA and the other one who is a complete mess between rebuilding and being a contender.

A few thoughts:
1) I think we have to remember that the C's have the hard part done -- a clear top 6. They can finish games with a frightening lineup of Rondo, Ray, Paul, KG and Sheed.  Ouch! That is tremendous!
2) We also have 2 decent NBA veteran role players already on the bench -- guys that contributed last year -- Scal and House. That makes 8 rotation players.
3) The roles needed to fill are fillable -- a back-up PG (if not Pruitt) should not be hard to find and a decent 3 for minutes fill for Pierce (15 minutes) also should be attainable (hopefully one that can play some D).  We should relax and watch Danny fill these holes that are MUCH easier to fill than the top six players in the rotation.
4) Gary Tanguay is an MC (Master of Ceremonies) and he is OK in that role.  He clearly stepped out of his comfort zone with his 'insider info' this off-season.  I give him credit -- it was entertaining and decent fodder for people like us to use for discussion.  He even got some of it correct.  I think Tanguay is fine -- a harmless entity in the big scheme of things.  Good for him for going out on a limb or two.

I don't have a problem going into the season with Giddens and Walker as the back-up 3s, as long as Danny FORCES Doc to play them.  Getting Pierce fewer minutes is priority 1, even if it means losing 5 or 7 more games.

Going into the playoffs with just Giddens and Walker is scary, unless one of them blows up into a legitimate player in the regular season.  But you have to remember that Ainge WILL make a trade this season.  Either the Cs are playing well enough that he sends out the smaller expiring deals for a vet or they're playing poorly enough that he makes a megadeal that sends out Ray's huge contract for another superstar.

Agree.  And I like Tanguay because he imo he doesn't pretend to know everything under the sun about sports.  He actually approaches things from a questioning perspective sometimes, which is refreshing coming from a land of know-it-alls.

TP, Neurotic Guy!

Three good points.

I have to agree with the people who are on-board with the Giddens/Walker backup SF option.

At some point, we have to stop plugging every hole in our lineup with the Veteran's Minimum.

Rondo
Perkins
Powe
Davis

Four recent examples of players that were developed internally.
