Yes, when we saw GG first, we ALL thought he was a very promising dude; We thought the same of Kedrick Brown:  My comment is limited to: So??? So we thought of Blount, Mcfarty, Mihms, etc. etc.
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

Gerald is a pretty efficient offensive player. He scores pretty easily.  Where he fails in defensively, and turnovers.  I would be intrigued to sign him again, if we can't get another FA 3, and seeing how he competes against Walker and Giddens for PT.  I doubt Doc would want him back, however.

He also can't create his own shot.

Does anyone understand the outrage that would ripple through boston's stratosphere if we brought Gerald back and let Leon walk?

Dogs and cats, living together, mass hysteria!
Jut wondering would people rather have him at the vet min or Giddens? How about Hudson or Gerald? Pruitt or Gerald? Walker or Gerald? I'd like to get people's opinions, the only player I'd take over Gerald would be Walker, Giddens has shown less in the league and he's older, if you say you have to give Giddens some time to develop you ha ve to give the same leeway to the young player Green.
I would most certainly rather have a rehabbing Leon than any of the others.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Leon's heart in Gerald's body might be a solid combo. I'm not sure the team doctors know how to perform that operation though.  :P

I'd like to think Gerald can get it together, but I'm sure Doc would never allow him back on the team. Seems like GG wore out his welcome and the door is closed.

A lot of posters are posting about his bad basketball IQ and his inability to know where to be.  Don't forget, he came out of high school and played on a lousy team.  He is very young and very easy to condition into your scheme.  He is 23 years old.  Your writing off someone who was a Real Raw Baby(RRB).  Danny wouldn't have taken him if there wasn't something there.

I'd take Giddens. Yes, they are the same age. But Gerald has been in the NBA for 4 years and stopped improving. Giddens has improved each of the last 3 years, and actually accomplished something at a higher level than Gerald. Gerald has never been a good player at a level higher than high school.

I'm not saying Giddens will be great, but I think there's a better chance of improvement.

That's been proven wrong for 4 different teams already.

I think there is no way that Gerald has peaked given that he is only 23 years old. I think Gerald is better now and younger so I'd take him but you make valid points.

It is lack of improvement that is keeping him barely hanging on in the league. No one expects rookies to be very good. But after four years and several chances to earn playing time GG has remained a stiff. Sometimes talent doesn't translate into being a player.

Here is my case.

1.He is 23 years old.
2. Incredibly Athletic.
3. Has 4 years in the league.
4.  Kevin Garnett will bring out the defense in him.
5. We can get him for short money.
6. He is more mature now (if not the team will make him mature) and we can re-develop him.
7. He only needs to play 10-15 minutes a game to back up PP.

You have to admit, when he was first playing we all were a little hopeful about him and a little intrigued  about his potential.
At the time, we didn't need another young immature player so it was good to get rid of him.
Now we have a talented veteran team that can teach him how to be a pro.
I think there is a huge upside with little risk to bring him back.
What do you think?

Its all in the head, not in the heart. if GG had had it in his mind to make the most of his physical abilities, he could have been a top not player; he has the physycal tools; not everybody has them even if they had the mind to be a better player. for reasons still unknown to most of us, GG decided 4 years ago, that he wouldnt try his darnest to be the best he could be. That was his choice; maybe voluntarily, maybe he had such a screwed up head that he never had the chance to have a choice; it happens, unfortunately. If GG ever has the free choice of trying to become the best he can be, I have no doubts he could be a topplayer in the league; like I said, he has all the physycal tools; he's got height; speed, at least average ability to score from 3pt land and near; He just has to have the desire to put it all together. He may still have a choice to do it; I think that his history so far is that mentally, he cannot put up with the rigors fo disciplined action. Maybe he can overcome it as he matures, maybe he cant. To me he is an unread book; hard to make out the plot just by looking at its cover. my 5 cents on Gerald green. I do hope he can muster it together sometime soon.

Fair enough. I just don't see it in him, but of course he wouldn't be the first guy to pull it together a little later in his career. He better do it soon before he's out of a job.

Or maybe he is the best player he can be.
