i think it is going to take over 3 mil to get baby..i believe danny matches anything 3 mil and under

If Danny told baby he wasn't going to pay him, then baby signed a 3 mil deal, and he decided to pay baby..well Danny is a genius. A shrewd scummy genius. See signature.

i think danny wants to pay baby about 2 mil a year but would prolly go up to 3 if need be...we lose baby then we have 2 massive holes on the bench at both forward positions

That was a dirty trick on Pritchard's part.

Who else is left out there besides Baby that can play some center? Their only roster player that is capable of playing C is Kwame Brown. I really think this was to clear room for the baby. It'd be funny if they made this move and danny matched, but i doubt we would pay $3.5 mil+ for a 4th big.

we let baby walk then boston has to possibly replace 2 bigs, a wing and a point on the bench...and there isnt much out there unless they can use a sign and trade with a combo of tony, scal, pruitt, giddens and walker..although i prefer to keep scal because he can play some 3 and 4 if needed...

ESPN says the move should give Detroit about $3.5 mil in cap room.

I imagine that could be used to sign Davis to an offer sheet, but it could also be used in a trade.

Hmmm, Kwame, plus Maxiell, plus the $3.5 in cap room would allow them to take on about $12.5 million in salary.  Boozer makes 12.3 million.

That would leave them with a team of:

Stuckey
Hamilton, Gordon
Prince, Daye
Boozer, Villain
Oberto

They would be thin up front, but thats not a bad team to work with.

I really wonder if this is all part of trying to get Boozer.  If they can clear enough cap space to combine with expiring contract of Kwame, in order to match Boozer's salary, Utah might actually do that, so they could resign Millsap, and then have those assets (trade exception, and expiring contract).

Yes, I am checking out a Detroit board and they seem to think this will make a trade easier.

Something along those lines would make sense.

Utah knows they are losing Boozer so they would take anything at this point.

if pistons go get boozer, the jazz match milsap, the blazers get odom and boston keeps baby...then that is the best situation for the celtics

But, that still means there's both Rip and Gordon fighting for minutes.

I'm wondering whether Dumars thinks he can get Boozer (in a trade for Rip) and still have enough assets (Maxiell or Brown plus cap space) to land Tyson Chandler.
