After the front page article(via twitter), I am excited at the possibility of going after Moon.
I realize he is young and ideally out of our price range. But imagine if we had some of the big three, not go and visit him, but maybe talk to him on the phone. That could probably do a lot to persuade a young guy like him. Offer him the Bi-Annual. I think he has a lot of potential.
But really I just like his last name.
He was also a Harlem Globetrotter. Very cool.
As a fan of the Toronto Raptors and as a guy who lives in Toronto and got to see Jamario Moon play a lot, all I can say is that this guy needs work.
Firstly, he's not young at all. He was born in 1980 and just turned 29 last month.
Secondly, this guy is EXPLOSIVE! I mean freakishly explosive. I'm talking Vince Carter circa the 2000 dunk contest explosive. Seriously.
The problem with Jamario Moon is that, like all members of the Toronto Raptors, he fell in love with his jump shot. He even fell in love with his 3-point shot despite shooting an atrocious % from both the field and beyond the arc.
My thesis statement here is that Jamario Moon is really 2 basketball players, and unless we get the explosive one who basically says "I'm going to dunk the ball or you're going to foul me" then I'm not interested in him.
He needs to know that he really should never be shooting the ball at all, and certainly not shooting 3's.
Also, he was a ghost in Miami.
Thoughts?
