no, it could mean a lot of things - like maybe we're after a free agent that wants more than our bi-annual to sign

so we send the spare parts (giddens, walker, tony, scal) to someone who has their own free agent they want moved....i would love to do that and keep baby

This is a post from the Hornets board regarding BBD. If true, it does show we're really looking into some sign and trade scenarios.

I'm telling you we will not sign him [Big Baby]. We have offered Posey in a Sign and trade for him according to both my fiend who works for the Hornets and my buddy who used to work for us but now works for another team. With Hill going back to PHX I think this possibility went up from 10 percent to 20 percent but is still unlikely.

well, we know they regret the posey contract, and we know that due to BYC rules a straight trade wouldn't work, but they throw Wright into the deal and we throw in some expiring deals (scal, ta), and i'd be happy.

The problem with this is it is hard to speculate the package as fans if we don't know the amount for BBD!

If we do the Posey trade, it is obvious we are going all out for the next 3 years.

To take Posey of their hands though, I expect they we be willing to eat one of our expiring deals. Can they also take Pruitt and then cut him (no guaranteed money) to make up for the BYC difference?

The S&T could be coming from the other team. We could offer another team expiring deals (Tony, Scal, etc.) for their signed and traded player.

I don't think Hill was "only in it for the money".  He wanted to stay with a team where he was comfortable, and didn't want to uproot his family.

My dad said Hill stayed with Phoenix because he wanted to start and get lots of minutes, he didn't want to finish his career on the bench - seeing as how he had spent so much of his career on the bench with injuries.

Not sure where he heard that.

It was actually on ESPN. He said it wasn't about money, it was about playing time.

Also, his kids just enrolled into some expensive school in Phoenix, so that makes family sense.

must be really expensive schools!
hope they still have some money left to go to college someday! :)

my feeling is that if he really wanted to win, he'd be here. since winning doesn't seem to be everything to him, we don't need him around.

Well, there's something to be said for wanting playing time.

Hill has had a good career, but I'm sure it still bothers him a lot that he missed out on so much of potential because of injuries.  He probably wants to get the  most out of the next couple years because they'll be the last that he's able to play professionally (most likely).  We could have offered him 20-25 minutes per game of the bench, but I guess he wants to start.  I can respect that.

If they get BBD for around 4 mill (similar to Bass), I would like to see them sign Udoka and Oberto for one year contracts and have them traded. It would fix our depth issues.

Sign Udoka and Oberto and then trade them? I don't think I understand you on this one. Why would we trade them?

Are you talking about trading the end of our current bench?
