While he actually was efficient last year with Cleveland, he reminds me of when the Celts were bad.  Plus him and KG never cared for each other- I rather pass on him.

I brought it up a while ago.  I'd take him if we can't get Hill or Moon.  Always did have an inflated view of himself, but his skillset would be nice to have on the bench.  A revolving door of wing back-ups including TA, Wally and Bill Walker would at least be interesting.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I wouldn't mind getting Wally as long as we also picked up a more defensive guy (Udoka or Bogans for example) as a SG backup.

So in other words...if we can't get one guy who can complete our bench with offensive and defensive ability, we could at least sign a couple guys who fill out the roles we need.

Bench:

House
Bogans
Wally
BBD
Sheed

Pretty good if you ask me.

But Wally isn't worth more than the minimum to us.

Well he's up there on the all time list with 3PT Percentage.

Yeah, Wally World really isn't a bad player, he's just kinda limited at this point in his career.

But I'm willing to bet he'd be better for 10 ppg than Walker or Giddens.  Less turnover prone and more likely to hit some open shots, at least.

These are the choices we're going to have to face if we don't get Hill:

a) Play Pierce and Allen more than 35 mpg again and tire them out before the playoffs.

b) Play Walker and / or Giddens for significant minutes and be a league leader in turnovers again.

c) Get a guy like Bogans or Wally, or both, and have them give Pierce and Allen some rest.  They're very limited but at least they're not huge liabilities.

I'd choose Bill Walker and JR over Wally in a heartbeat!

Yea except he's old, he's slow, he's not going to get any better, and he's not part of our long term plans.

Thats why i'd like him for a minimum contract. He's a step up over TA.

What's better, Walker getting a few fouls in a small amount of time, missing a couple jumpers, getting a nice dunk or two, and turning over the ball a couple times, or Wally being kind of flammable on the defensive end and stretching the opposing defense (or punishing them for leaving him open)?

That's all I'm saying.  I'd much prefer Wally for the minimum playing 10-15 mpg over playing TA, Walker, or Giddens significant minutes.

Stuff like this:

“We’re on a fast break and I’m waving him on, but he’s coming up behind me. I swear, I thought he was going to steal the ball. We’ve got all kinds of stories like that. We joke about it.” – Chauncey Billups on Wally Szczerbiak

Your making Bill Walker sound horrible. He's played 216 minutes in his career, Wally has 651 GAMES! The kid is only 21 years old and has alot of time to improve (if given the minutes)

I'd rather a 21 year old kid with atheleticism that plays with no fear, than a 31 year old player who is strictly a 3PT shooter.

Bill Walker is a couple thousand practice jumpshots away from being a good all around scorer off the bench, i mean he's throwing up pumpfakes from 3 then driving to the hole, he's never even made a three before and he's got the defense off balance. Imagine if he had even an "okay" outside shot?

all that being said:

Ray- House- Giddens
Pierce- Walker- Wally

i could live with that.

You can imagine all you want, but we want to win now and Walker still isn't very good right now.  Just because we bring in a more solid veteran roleplayer like Wally, it doesn't mean we're giving up on Billy.  It just means that right now, while our window is closing, we'd rather not trust significant minutes to a guy who is very turnover prone and doesn't even have a reliable jumpshot yet.

i'm souring a bit on walker. i don't want a hatchet man on the c's and he seems to be headed that way. wally is a much better player even though he is a statue. i'm a little intrigued by giddens. he was looking very quick, athletic in summer league and i'm curious if he can at least separate himself against good competition to take a quality shot and make the right decision on the break. that's one thing that wally does do well, in my opinion. he is'nt a bad fast break player. he's slow as molasses but he DOES no where to be.
