Ray Allen for CJ Miles, Andrei Kirilenko

CJ Miles becomes our Ray Allen "lite" and adds a young piece. Kirilenko becomes the backup at the 3 and 4 spots and has one more year on his contract.

Just for [fun], dunno if I would do it... would have to consider it if I thought Miles was going to make another leap (he's only 22).

I don't mind that trade. I'd probably do it if Utah would bite. I guess it depends how bad they want to get out of the Ray's deal. But it would for sure remove their flex for the next 2-3 years until Kirilenko came off. Which means that any remote chance they might have at landing a big free agent this coming off season when Ray's contract is up, get much slimmer.

The cap will be small next year - no chance to land a top free agent, when we have PP and KG plus Rondos extension on the books - maybe with a sign and trade it would be possible.

I dont think Utah does this deal. Doesn't make a lot of sense for them unless they just want to unload contracts.

Because they get rid of a contract they don't want, and get the best SG they have had in years.  It also might make it a little easier for them to swallow matching a contract to Millsap.

???

A HUGE downgrade in talent on the wings in a year that we're going full-bore for the title, AND exchanging an expiring contract for AK-47's monstrosity?

Sorry, try again.

Is this trade proposal assuming the C's are tanking this season? If so this trade would work great for the purpose of being an extremely worse team.

at the cost of one of their best young players?

For them to do that, i would think they would have to believe ray puts them over the top in an ultra competitive west. I don't think you can talk them into that.

No more Ray Allen trades please. His presence and charity work is a big reason why Wallace is coming here.

Our top 6 is loaded. I don't want to see any of them traded this year. Plus we're going to need Ray's salary space in order to resign Rondo, etc.
