I don't understand.

How do we have money for even a Tyrone Lue, if we were to sign Hill? I mean Marbury took a portion of the MLE last year didn't he? So isn't signing Hill conceding out ambition to acquire a vet pg?

Do we need a vet PG if Hill can play point-forward? It's only for 15 minutes a game (assuming Rondo averages 33 again)

We can offer as many minimum contracts as we want.

I believe people are getting minimum contracts and the LLE mixed up.

Good luck to Marbury.  He was never able to perform in the role he was given in Boston.  He played good defense for the most part, but wasn't able to contribute anything else.

  • Rondo = Good
Bye Bye Stephon.  Have fun in Europe.  You're not worth more than the minimum over here.

The report that the Celtics don't want him is not true. Link:

Quote
Meanwhile, Stephon Marbury said he will likely not return to the Celtics after being offered the veterans’ minimum of $1.3 million.

So now he's playing it like we never offered him a contract? He probably interprets it as if our offer was not worthy and that we want to show him that we don't want him. But we do, just at the minimum and 10 minutes per night. But obviously he doesn't want that.

And he said 2 years ago that once his contract with the Knicks is up, he will go to Italy. So good luck with the money and minutes there, too bad you don't want to win a ring this season.

Marc Berman.

New York Post.

If you don't understand why I am saying this, then there is no hope. Check his blog, he literally has at least 1 Marbury article per week as requested by his editor. Which results in quotes taken out of context, conflicting reports, speculation. Like the whole Wizards thing. It started with Marc Berman, he just pulled it out of his ass.
If you provided some links or explained your reasoning I think you'd get better responses to your posts.

Seems that way.

marbury doesn't understand that he is pretty much blackballed here in the NBA...and the C's offer was prolly the best he would get

No, we can sign as many players to minimum contracts as we have roster spaces for.  Our backup PG is likely going to be a minimum contract no matter what. That's why we offered Marbury, I think all along we've slotted that amount of money for our 3rd PG.

He probably does understand, he just doesn't want to accept it. I really wonder if he'd actually go to Europe. Imagine his reaction to getting out played by career Euro-league players.

What 3rd string PGs do you want over him? I don't see him as any different from the whole lot of bad options.

The Bucks got rid of Charlie V so they could resign Sessions. They're keeping him.
