Ha, what? No, hang in there.

You're going to need to field a thirteen man roster just like in the actual NBA. And by my count you're two players shy and with two picks to make before the start of the 14th round, where you also have a pick...

(Bobby Simmons was selected by Las Vegas. And neither your Eddy Curry nor Luke Walton selections stand.)

Wow, great deal for Phoenix. Biedrins is one of the games best young centers. Blazers GMs are going to have fits.

Why?  The trade probably improved Phoenix's strengths, and weakened their weaknesses.  It's a good trade for Phoenix, as Biedrins is a good young player, and he's only 22.  This sets them up for a decade-long run with Rondo, Big Al, and Biedrins.

However, in the short terms Biedrins is defensively weaker than J.P., and on a per-minute basis, they block about the same number of shots and get the same number of rebounds.  He scores a little more, but most of that scoring is inside.  That still doesn't open any lanes for Rondo, and the loss of Outlaw's scoring and outside shooting makes it even harder to penetrate.

So, no, we're not disappointed or scared.  You do seem a little obsessed with Portland's roster, though, Wiggle.

Phoenix felt extremely torn about this. On the one side, they feel like they're trading a perfectly above average defensive big man and top 20 starting SF who can get a lot better for a big that is a slight improvement in the immediate.

But Joel Pryzbilla, despite def making the best of what he's gotten in the past, is too limited offensively to keep up with some of the better teams in the west. Al Jefferson needs a guy who can hit a 5 ft hook shot on his side, and JP was mostly a dunker. I think moving Josh Howard back to his natural position and moving Roger Mason into the starting lineup adds another shooter to the lineup.

I'm gonna miss you, Travis Outlaw and Joel Pryzbilla, I think I've spent 2 or 3 pages defending you already in this thread. But I'll miss you most of all, scarecrow Darko. I still believe he's gonna pull it together in NY, but at least I don't have to scream myself hoarse convincing Edgar of that anymore.

EDIT: I would not have made this move if I didn't believe in Ersan Ilyasova, Kyle Korver, Josh McRoberts, and Nate Robinson to surprise a lot of people. Strong picking in the depth rounds keeps me confident in my team.

Also watch out for Serge Ibaka. Seriously. He's from the Congo and he's an athletic freak. Try and keep up, Jermaine.

I needed the depth. The big three were good, real good but I had little else. Przybilla gives me similar to what Biedrins did, I got a great up and coming SF who can guard similar to Posey in that he has that length and strength to guard PFs too. I get to move Wally to his more natural 2 guard spot and I get a real back up at the 4-5.

I loved my starting five but the bench was too weak. I think both teams did well.

I understand what IP was doing.  In the short term, the trade probably is about even, but in the long term, it will really pay off.

nick, I don't get your rationale.  You declined offensively at the 5, and got a player who is 6 years older who will never get better.  You got a nice piece in Outlaw, but you already have a strong 2 / 3 combo.

Any insight you want to share?

Just a throw away joke on the running feud, Hobbs. I think Portland is developing a persecution complex. ;)

I will say one thing more. I hated having to do it but I'm in a division where I stand zero chance of winning simply because one team has a guy name Lebron on it's team. Zero chance. It really doesn't matter how good of a starting five I have, the votes will go to any team with LeBron.

So if I am to beat Orlando, I have to have the constant defensive pressure at the SF spot. With Wally having to play there 20 MPG, forget it. I lose. No one else is going to say anything else other than "At some time Wally will have to guard Lebron!!" and I lose. Now Lebron will be guarded by Outlaw and Jackson at all times and will be sent into the help defense of Darko and Przybilla, two excellent shot blockers.

If this was a keeper league, forget it I don't make the trade. But let's be honest, it's not, so the short term is more important than the long term unless you have a Kevin Durant and a couple of other young stars on your team. I wasn't winning the Future Team. So I changed tactics.

It's a fairly shallow anti-Portland agenda.  Or so my sources tell me.  8)
