The Seattle Supersonics select LeBron James, forward, St. Vincent/St. Mary's

Ok fine.

Dahntay Jones, shooting guard, Duke University

Whenever I picked Kyle Korver (round 7 maybe?) I was first gonna pick Dahntay Jones instead, but Kelly Dwyer talked me out of it. Here is why:

The latest move has been the push to pay Dahntay Jones through his prime kicking and pushing years. It's an awful contract, even at the cheap price of four years and $11 million, because what Jones does is so utterly replaceable.

He gets the reputation as a defensive stopper, but last year's Nuggets were actually better defensively with him off the floor (and way better offensively). George Karl just liked the idea of starting the tough guy over the mercurial J.R. Smith, so he kept up the charade.

That's why I took him in the middle of round 9, rather then 7. I feel comfortable where I took him and what he can offer. My 2nd unit needed the toughness, even if it is reputation only as the article suggests (and I disagree with)
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

I agree, this was the right place for him.

I picked Kyle Korver. I thought about picking Dahntay Jones. I decided not to.

The Detroit Pistons hapilly select Gerald Wallace

Nice pick.

I like the Chandler and Lee picks, too, although I think Minnesota gave up too much to move up.

This is the Portland GM from round 2.  Hmm. Liked the Wallace pick in round two, but doesn't think he's worth two 5th rounders. Odd.

As I said before, trades should be judged on players, not draft position.

But to each their own.  You seem obsessed with proving you made a good trade.

Should I go back and find you some of your own quotes about Chandler and/or Rudy?

I think you took a team that was a legit contender, and downgraded it, first with the Prince trade, now with this one.  You'd made multiple brilliant moves up to that point, and then took two steps back in my opinion.

Again, though, to each their own.

Of course I billed up Chandler and Rudy. You did the same with Hawes. Was just pointin g out your objective review of Wallace being picked in round 2. If you thought he was a nice pick then you must think he's a darn good player.
