  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Portland's damp climate isn't good for the rheumatoid arthritis.

The Crotornats training staff better stock up on the Icy Hot.

We've hired BassThumper as equipment manager and Phoenix's training staff to take care of any injuries.

Haha.  Yep.  We're all hypocrites, depending upon who is playing for what team.  Objectively, though, Shaq is better than Hawes in the immediate future, and he's a good player on a team that covers his pick-and-roll defense.

For the record, though:  I love Spencer Hawes.  If he's moving on, we wish him the best, and are a bit saddened about moving a 20 year old center who averaged 13.8 / 8.5 / 50.8% after the break last year.

I'm looking forward to Shaq's next nickname.

The Big Puddle? The Big Drizzle? I'm not sure what else we're known for here in Portland. The Big Latte?

Doesn't mean that I think Shaq is the answer for you. Equating Shaq to Dwight Howard in your vision for your team is drastically underselling Dwight Howard. Shaq gets up and down the floor like a sleepy tectonic plate.

Also I think just saying Bibby>Alston, Manu>Hedo, and Redd>Lee is kind of basic. Hedo is a completely different player than Manu, so is Lee than Redd.

We're a half court team.  When we do selectively fast break, Shaq will be the initiator -- he's an excellent passer.

We're all entitled to our opinions, but Edgar and I feel like adding a four-time champion, and one of the top five centers of all time, to our squad really improves us.  We don't lose a lot by moving Hawes (in the short term), and we gain a ton.
