  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
The Heat select Anthony Morrow

Too high - Morrow is too one dimensional.
Look at this guy's game log.  His averages last year weren't great, but he can really score (which we need) and he can rebound.  Not too many assists, but Rondo should help in that category anyway...
He fills it up under Don Nelson, which makes me question how he'll do in a more traditional system.  He can shoot the lights out, bu his defense is weak and he's not a great athlete.  He's a good bench guy, but I think there are a lot of better players out there right now.

Of course you're going to think his D is weak - he is on GS.  He is a scorer and can do a few other things fairly well.  There is no evidence that he is a bad defender, just on a bad defensive team.

From John Hollinger:

Golden State took a flier on the undrafted Morrow after he played well in Summer League. The sharpshooter from Georgia Tech hit 44.8 percent of his 3-pointers, so Don Nelson is likely to appreciate his floor-spacing capabilities. He's not an NBA athlete and is fairly one-dimensional, but has shooting guard size at 6-5 and may have a good enough stroke to have a career.

From DraftExpress (after this year's summer league):

Besides his incredible shooting ability, there isn’t a great deal to speak of about Morrow’s game. His ball-handling skills are poor, meaning he rarely if ever gets to the free throw line. He generated just a single assist in his three games here in Vegas, although he’s traditionally not a turnover prone player at all to counter that when he’s playing in a real basketball setting. He’s actually an extremely intelligent player who understands his limitations quite well and knows how to maximize himself on the court. Defensively, he doesn’t offer a great deal, as he’s often willing to put the effort in, but just doesn’t really have the physical tools to be much of a presence here.

CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

After much deliberation and hand wringing, the Phoenix Suns select Marreese Speights

Nice.  I really like Speights

Speights is 6'10, 245. He eats lightening and craps thunder.

Heat interested in moving Shaq for younger scorers and/or big men.  TPs with all legit offers.  Will consider moving picks as well.

Nice pick.  Gives you some depth down low.

But how much longer can you wait to fill out the starting 5?

I initially wanted Collison instead of Speights, but I couldn't justify it after looking at their ages and per minute production
