Also Roy and Edgar, instead of attacking my team why don't you just defend your own? I wanted you to address my and others concerns.

As early team analysis begins, I have a thought; during team presentations assign two GMs to each team, possibly from the opposite conference, one to savage the team and one to defend it? An angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other, so to speak.

Thoughts?

Denver still has 2 6 (3,4) and two 7s.

Willing to move two to move up into 5th (or even late 4th)

We have time and trade assets to fix the C issue and get beasly to PF down the road, where he belongs.

What? Varejao starts at Center and Beasley at PF. Problem fixed now. Varejao played plenty of minutes in the middle for Cleveland, and posted a better PER at that position. He was possibly the second best defender on arguably the best defensive team in the league. And he's no fun to play against.

That's a young, mobile frontcourt.

thats also something we will take a long look at doing,

but to be honest, AV is drawing alot of interest, along with trevor, from teams looking to add a knock out 7th or 8th man and get over the top. once I start trading in the post draft period, he may be one who i get good offers for.

So he is your 4th pick and you are saying that he would be a good 7th or 8th man on a team to put it over the top?

It is proving to be impossible to defend one's teams.  Since we are all in competition here not many people are gonna say, "You know hes right his team is better than mine." Its going to be like the politics threads, everybody throwing facts and stats left and right but nobodys mind changing

yes.

lets be honest, i have the worst picks in the draft. there is not a lot of value in being dead last pick wise in a game where the point is to be voted best team in the league for the following year.

I had to choose between

A) using all my high picks (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th in some combo) and the 30th in the first round to move up and obtane a true franchise player, and then build around him with the remaining trash (ala real life CLEV around lebron until recently)

or

B) conceding the championship and competing in the "team of the future" bracket, which as i said in my previous post, was my choice, and doing a write up of how we will rise through the ranks.

as a team in full "compete in the future" mode, i have to consider trading young players who can be key contributors to stacked squads for things i can use in my write up about how we will be good 2-3 years from now.

Our team is going to be judged by how well it stacks up to 29 other teams.  Yours is one of them, which we think is significantly more flawed than yours.

I guess it seems a little hypocritical of you to complain about us "attacking" you, when you're spent several posts over several days criticizing our selections, and our team as a whole.  It seems now that the shoe is one the other foot, you've become a tad bit defensive.

Our team is significantly less flawed than yours, and at this stage, significantly less flawed than most teams.

We have great shooting.  We have players who can penetrate.  We have defense and rebounding.  We create mismatch problems due to versatile players.  We have players with deep playoff experience, including championship rings.  We have bigs who can play in the post and who can go outside.  We have an experienced team, but not an old team.

Manu and Redd have some injury concerns, but even if only one of them is healthy, we have an elite team.  If both of them are (and reports are that they both are), there's nobody in our conference at this stage who can touch us, in our opinion.

Of course, things change.  We don't judge teams after 3 1/2 rounds.  However, I think a lot of the criticism is unwarranted, when considering that none of the other teams is perfect, either.

All the negativity in this town sucks. It sucks, and it stinks, and it sucks. - Rick Pitino
