You're not being objective about Doc's abilities.  Doc didn't bring us number 17.  He just didn't screw it up.  He had the best team on paper and on the court. 

Doc is a good locker room guy, and he gets the most out of his players.  But he's far from perfect.  Wallace isn't coming to Boston because he wants to play for Doc.  He's good friends with KG.  Hill might come here because of Doc.  But just because a player or players want to play for Doc does not mean Doc's abilities or evaluations are spot on.

I find it hard to believe that with all the naysayers regarding TA, that people don't point the finger at Doc for not playing either Gabe, JR, or Walker ahead of TA. 

I'm not saying fire Doc.  I'm just saying the guy does make mistakes.  For those mistakes or weaknesses, they should be open game for criticism.  And his strengths should be applauded.

I really want to see Giddens playing alongside real NBA players. I think that's where his major value will come from. He's not a first option kind of guy, but a great energy guy who can facillitate, play defense, rebound the ball and jam the ball in peoples' throats.

I'd like to see him practice the corner 3, which I think he'll start knocking down with regularity eventually. I have little doubt about that, but he has to be put in that role.

Yes every coach makes mistakes, but I don't think playing JR Giddens ahead of Tony Allen would have changed the fortunes of the season - what I'm saying is I trust the coach with his personnel decisions because he has a great track record - we won our first title in 20+ long hard years under his tutledge.  These guys didn't play because he didn't think they had the ability (for whatever reason) to do so.  People always say Doc doesn't play youth - but check this, last time I looked, the starting pg on the 17th banner boston Celtics was a second year guy + Leon got solid reserve minutes and contributed and was, wait for it, a second year player... so to say Doc discriminates against youth or something like that is crazy.

That said, Rasheed's agent said he came here in part because of the coach, and I believe it.  No one in the NBA wants to play for a guy who doesn't know what he's doing, or a guy who is too strict.  Doc has the respect of the players and the league, it just amazes me some local fans still don't buy in...

yeah, Courtney Lee without the three ball is kind of useless...just a decent defender.
