I don't see Noc really fitting in with Sacramento. They're rebuilding, and even though he's still pretty young he isn't young enough to really part of that team, especially with his contract. They were better off keeping Salmons in my opinion.. We can offer them the contracts to get out of his deal after this season, instead of four years later. When you're just dumping salary, does it really matter WHO you're getting back, as long as the contracts are expiring?

It's not like Nocioni is an all-star, he's a really solid role player. It's not like the asking price would be out of this world. He would just add to an already over the top team for dead weight expiring contracts and a C+ prospect at best in Giddens, Pruitt, or Walker.

Has anyone identified an NBA player Nocioni can guard?

Kings fan born and raised in MA here ..Celts and Kings being my two teams ... anyways..

Ive been talking about a Nocioni swap to boston for a while now and I think it would be a great move for both teams. The Kings need to rid themself of him and his contract to open up some playing time for Donte Greene and Omri Casspi.. They have a bit of a logjam at the 3 right now so someone has to go and Nocioni being the oldest and highest paid he has to be the odd man out.. As a kings fan, I would be hellla happy to trade him for expiring deals just to open up some minutes for the young guys.


Noc fits in with the Celts perfectly too, he is the ultimate hustle guy but he also brings some skill to the table and a decent 3pt shot .. can play some spot minutes at the 4 aswell to add that fourth big to the Kg, Perk and Sheed rotation if BBD isnt brought back. And to the guy who said Nocioni doesnt play defense - your wrong. He is a well above average defender and with his hustle Im sure Thib can get the most out of him on the defensive end.

Seriously... Eddie House can't play defense. Mikki Moore can't play defense. Ray Allen and Paul Pierce *couldn't* play defense. Noc's a warrior, and in a system where defense is key, especially a team like ours where we have KG, Rondo, and now Sheed barking at people to give max effort Nocioni will play defense.

Edit - I should probably clarify, I wasn't saying Moore and House can play defense I was just giving an example of what bad defense looks like.

I like Nocioni's game, to be honest, and think he'd work out okay here. But Posey, who we know fit really well, was too expensive for us, and Nocioni makes about $1.6 million more over that same three year stretch. Nocioni is three years younger than Posey, but I still just can't see Danny taking on Nocioni.

his contract (like most signed a few years ago) is out of line with today's standards. not that much of a difference between him and scal to be honest, and scal is the better defender. i think the Cs are more like to sign barnes, bogans or ross on the cheap.
