Michael Jackson's funeral

Is anybody watching the funeral at home?  It's pretty interesting.  In a way, there is some good videos, speeches and performances going on, but on the other hand, I think it seems more and more like an event rather than a funeral (or memorial service, whatever they call it).  I mean, Kobe Bryant? 

This memorial really limits the fans, who really wanted to experience something more than just watching this on TV.  I think it should've been like when Ayrton Senna died, a famous Formula 1 driver.  They had a parade like around the city of Sao Paulo and there were thousands of people on the streets (something like half a million) just to see the coffin on the firetruck.

But anyway, any thoughts?

Is it open casket? Because I'm still not convinced he's actually dead, simply an elaborate hoax to fade into obscurity once and for all.

listening to this "Britain's Got Talent" finalist butcher "Whose Lovin You" just about 5 minutes after seeing the clip of young Michael Jackson sing it is amazing.  Michael was a child prodigy.

     What's really the most sad thing about all of this is that a man blessed with amazing talent had absolutely no childhood to speak of. He sold 50 million copies of an album  (probly twice that now) at 23 years old, had no one to rely on, No real role models to speak of, and a crappy family life all the while moving to a life of solitude due to incredible fame.
I'm convinced if he had one real friend. one real confidante who would tell him "you know mike? I'm thinking the fake cleft in your chin with the 3rd nose job is probly not a good idea" or, "hey mike, Just gonna throw this out there but hanging out with little kids is a criminal offense man", He might have made it. He might have been ok.
     I guess what bothers me is seeing the same people who exploited him now up there getting one last shot at the limelight and it's kind of pathetic.

That was unbelievably painful.

Like many others I was a huge MJ fan as a child, and it's just odd that he is dead so soon. I know it's a cliche but they whole time I couldn't help but get the feeling that it's just not right that he's dead.

The "We are the World" finale really puts things into perspective, there's not a lot of performers and public figures that seemed to care so much about so many people.

I'm not naive, and there are a lot of questionable events in Michael Jackson's life, but since I don't know him personally and you are innocent until proven guilty, I miss him.
