I know that it's just Summer League, but I was really impressed with his game last night.  He's a legit 6'9", showed a sweet lefty-stroke, banged on the boards, and blocked two shots in 22 minutes.  Minus some range and a bit of his handle, he reminded me of a bigger Rodney Rogers.  If Baby bolts, this kid could be a cheap replacement.  He played four years at Baylor and seems like he could step in right away and fill a role.  Again, it's Summer League, but he's an intriguing prospect nonetheless.

I'm pretty sure he can't help as the 4th big on a championship team.

Maybe not, but he might be able to hold the fort down until Leon comes back.

I can see where you are coming from with this, but I am sceptical.  A lot of those shots came off uncontested pullups where he would just stare down the defender, and pull up from 12-15 feet.  You don't get those shots in most college games, nevermind summer league.  That being said, the two guys that intrigued me where Kevin Rogers and (you're going to laugh) Mike Sweetney for that exact role, holding off until Powe gets back.  I think with Rogers smooth looking offense and decent size/D and Sweetney with his pure size and power, they could play 3-6 minutes a game (just one, obviously) until Powe gets back and buys the starters more time.

That being said, I think practices might actually be a more telling sign of what they can offer than a 30-something point blowout against a bunch of jokers.  At practice, they are competeing head to head with guys that want their spot.  That's where I see tempers flaring and competitive spirits coming out, not in a floor mopping against the Goron Suton all-stars (whose game I actually like).

Kevin had a good game. Doubtful that he could help in the NBA, but he's got himself off to a good start.
