There's no guarantee (or now guaransheed) that Grant Hill is Boston Bound...SO, say he goes to NYC or Phoenix, who is the next best Pierce backup?

Along with that, what other additions or signings would be best for us?
Can't stop, Rondo!

I originally was saying Bruce Bowen, but I love the versatility of Walter Herrmann. He big enough and active enough to get rebounds and play pesky long arm defense, but he's got a nice shooting touch from behind the arc. I just hope Detroit hasn't ruined his nba experience and forced him back to Argentina or Euro leagues.

My other signings that I'd make would be...

Resign Powe for 1 year to prove his knee hasn't ruined him.
Resign Marbury for more than the minimum, but more more than 2 over 2yrs
Resign BBD for 3-4 mil over 3 years(or wait for the first team to offer him something similar then match-I dont feel he's worth 5-6 yet)
Resign Mikki Moore for vet min. He's not the greatest backup, but he can play the 4 or 5 and can be our dependable 4/5th string big man.
TRADE Tony Allen for a better shooting versatile SG/SF like Thabo Sefolosha or packaged with Scal for Rasual Butler and Devin Brown
Can't stop, Rondo!

Well, the number one option would be Anthony Parker.  Beyond that...well, I'm not ready to think about it yet.

Why not both?

My reasonable swing man wish list if we fail to land Hill:

1. A. Parker
2. M. Barnes
3. W. Herrmann
4. W. Szczerbiak
5. Q. Ross
6. D. Jones
7. I. Udoka
8. B. Bowen (if bought out)

Forgot about Bogans. He'd be in the mix too.

Both Parker and Hill?  That would be nice, but I would expect they would both be looking for more than the minimum, and unless there is a sign and trade, the C's can't offer that.

Let me see, we're not signing Big Baby or Leon, but debating over which of these scrubs or senior citizens to sign?
This off-season is looking worse than last years. I'm not liking the direction Danny is going. You just don't blow up a championship team for no good reason.

Danny might be the first GM in nba history to blow up a team and still return all 5 starters...

is it blowing it up, when its the bench?

i agree he did horribly last offseason not bringing in guys to fill roles on the bench.  i wish we had posey, but agreed with ainge's decision not to give him the amount of yrs posey was looking for.

leon or bbd might be back. i would take one sheed over both of them.

offseason isnt done yet, there will be more pieces of the puzzle.

Are you saying that signing Wallace was a mistake? Please elaborate on ainge direction vs your direction.

I for one am so glad we have a 6th man again.

Don't forget it was an ineffective bench.

I think Danny should shoot for Matt Barnes. He's bigger and faster than Grant Hill and has proved he's more durable.  He plays great defense and can hit the open three. He's actually my number 1 pick for the backup and above Grant Hill. Grant Hill scares the Sh*T out of me with his injury history.
