I'm not convinced Stuckey is enough of a PG to lead that team, and Boozer ought to be playing PF. Gordon and Charlie V don't give a rat's ass about playing D. Boozer can rebound with the best of them, but that's negated by how medicore Charlie V is on the glass.
They basically traded Billups for Gordon and Charlie V, which you would never do straight-up. What they SHOULD have done was trade 'Sheed; I love 'Sheed in Boston, I think he's going to be a helluva player here, but he was D-U-N in Detroit. Even though he was expiring, they should have kept Billups and send 'Sheed packing. I don't care what the return was, they just needed him out of there; Rasheed Wallace is like a carton of milk, let's just say I'm glad he's getting a two-year contract.
A Chauncey/Stuckey/Price/Hamilton core is still pretty [dang] good, pretty well in their prime, and they still could have traded Rip for Boozer to replace 'Sheed's production (and more) up-front. Would you rather have:
Stuckey
Gordon
Prince
Charlie V
Boozer,
or
Chauncey
Stuckey
Prince
Boozer (assuming a Rip-for-Boozer trade still happens)
McDyess (he won't resign now, but would for this squad).
I'd take the latter team, any day of the week. This doesn't assume they would have gotten anything of note for trading 'Sheed. Sure, it'd be nice to have a scorer; if you'd preferm assume they trade Prince instead of Rip.
