No we can get past Cavs. Pierce handled star players pretty well before if i remember conrrectly. Well out starting 5 has great D.

Rondo, Pierce, KG, Perkins, Sheed all have exceptional Defense so i think not having a 'pure' LockDown Player is neccesary.

You guys are mental right?
Tony freakin Allen.
What's wrong with him?
Maybe you guys just haven't seen him play consistently recently due to his injuries, but i've been watching him since his Rookie year and that kid is a crazy defender.  He is also a VERY effective slasher, and not a bad mid-range shooter.  I don't think he's 6th man material due to his being a guard that can't shoot too well, but 7th or 8th man for sure.  He's just had bad luck these past 2.5 years.  I don't see him as an 'injury-prone' player exactly, not like Hill.

Yes, we are mental right. Thanks for asking.
I dont believe Tony Allen will be on the roster in November.

Tony has the ABILITY to become a great defender, but he makes way too many mental mistakes. For one, his slashing rarely finishes well (how many times does he make the great blow by and gets denied by the rim due to not being able to finish during the chicago series) and his defensive choices are horrendous.

Before calling someone mental, please remember this is the guy the got Ben Gordon on sideline a good 29 feet from the basket, and still tried to contest a desperation 3 resulting in fouling a 89% foul shooter in game 5 of the playoffs. I was there, and sure Paul Pierce had his heroics, but it would not have been needed if Tony Allen had not made boneheaded plays.

We don't need a lockdown defender to get by Cleveland. Our "lockdown" defender against Cleveland in the playoffs two years ago was Posey. We've always funelled star players into our bigmen who have proceeded to make mincemeat of them.

Exactly. Same happened in the Cle / SA finals. Bowen and Finley had no chance guarding Lebron, so they just pushed him towards Duncan. This year, Hedo looked lost against Lebron but Dwight fixed those problems. Those teams did that with only 1 great big man defender. We have 2 with one to spare.

Don't know about November, but I can pretty much guarantee that TA won't be here past the trade deadline.  The only reason he's still here is he's under contract.

Sorry about calling ya'll mental, but honestly TA deserves WAY more credit than people are giving him.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I just think this year was his year to prove it, with him getting free reign of most of Posey's minutes. His FG% improved (though his eFg barely did due to his horrendous 3pt shooting), but his defense was just very boneheaded at times. Rewatch the playoff games. His game 1-5 performance of the Bulls series was one of the reasons he barely played against Orlando. And if Ray Allen wasn't in foul trouble I doubt he would have played game 5 either.

I agree.  TA may have the 'physical ability' to be a very good defender but his mental errors make him almost not worth putting out there on the floor.  First of all he's turnover prone that leads to lost possessions, and then when he makes stupid fouls as mentioned above that negates a lot of what he brings to the table defensively as well.  I'll be relieved if we can get rid of TA for a useful wing backup because he has just never lived up to his potential.
