How can Dallas enter the mix when they are using their MLE on Gortat?
I don't know, many of these BBD rumors don't make much sense. I think his agent is working over time trying to get all this out there.

I imagine the Mavericks are considering using Jerry Stackhouse in possible sign and trade scenarios. Only $2mil of his contract is guaranteed, offer $3mil so some team can make a tidy profit, and thereby allow Dallas to take back another contract in the MLE range.

I imagine that's what they're considering for any free agents that are still out there that they're interested in.

That said, I don't think they're interested in Glen Davis.

Gary needs to stop visiting the deli guy. He's obviously getting some bad meat.

And personally, I don't care if Davis stays or goes. He's like a significantly lesser version of Antoine when he first got here, but at least Walker was a good rebounder. Davis is pretty below average in that respect.

Whatever you want to say about Antoine, he was an allstar with a career high of about 48 (I think). He was one of the Celtics best players immediately. If BBD is as good as Antoine was at the start of his career we need to keep him.
BBD is only in his second year, he had an ok season that showed promise last year ther are no indications that he's not going to get better
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

No indication he is going to get better? He got MUCH better from his 1st to his 2nd season. Developed a shot that will keep him in the league for 10+ years. He also mad some very clutch plays in the playoffs and filled in admirably for KG .

Dallas offers him the LLE over the next 5 years and we match.  Good.

LLE are just two year deals.

So many teams interested.

Yet not one rumored offer.

Anyone else getting the feeling that Davis is a lot of teams fall back option?

And if he makes it to the 2nd waive of FA, the chances of him getting the MLE goes down.

well it's not surprising he hasn't had any offers yet, UFA usually go 1st and then RFA go soon after the top UFA are gone.

I hope he goes

I'm all set with an undersized PF who can't rebound or finish strong around the hoop

I think his ego is probably extremely high at the moment, let him go to some crappy team and vanish into oblivion...he's nothing without being surrounded by all stars

Later big boy, don't let the door hit u on the way out

Even better if he signs an offer with Dallas :)

He's a useful player.  My bet is he signs with a team that is willing to split the MLE and the question of matching will come down to years.   I believe he has proven himself to be a solid backup PF.
