Hedo Turkoglu has backed out of his commitment with the Trail Blazers and could sign with the Raptors, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Wow this would probably mean Marion is gone, hope he doesn't sign with Cleveland........

A lot of taxes in Canada. Definitely a Euro loving team though.

Backing out is pretty bush league.

With that said, I hope Artest backs out of LA

That's fun.

I'm looking forward to seeing Hedo in a Raptors jersey. I think he's a good fit there, they badly need a wing who can create off the dribble.

I've never seen a player as mediocre as Hedo calling so many shots. Whoever pays this guy his 10 million annually is getting robbed.

Its the city. Portland is probably not international friendly, while Toronto is a world class city. Toronto has a large Turkish population.

Idiotic move by Turk.

Raptors aren't going to be a real threat this year in the post-season (who knows if they'll even make the playoffs?), and they might be pretty bad in a year or two if Bosh leaves.

On the other hand, Portland is on the up-and-up, and they could be the 2nd or 3rd best team in the West this year, especially if they were to get Hedo.

Hedo looks like a real money grubbing loser if he goes with Toronto over Portland just for a few million bucks.

Not to mention if he had just stayed in Orlando for a bit less money they'd perhaps be the best team in the league....

This is not that big of a deal for us, but it isn't good - it makes a team in our conference better and makes it less likely that a team that could threaten the Lakers out West will be able to do so.

Although, on the flip side, this makes it much more likely that Parker and Marion will sign with other teams.  Perhaps Marion will try to go to the Blazers - it's unlikely he'd settle for an MLE contract or less with a contending team - but you never know.  Parker could be a potential option for us too, though I have a feeling he'll got to the Cavs.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

Well I thought the C's should have gone after Artest first. I predict that Sheed will get as much as Artest when it's all said and done.

Now I'd go after Odom, so not to be left at the altar with nothing when Sheed chooses Orlando, San Antonio, or the Cavs. Added bonus is we'd p--- off Laker fans. They'd call him a traitor. It would be great. I think Doc and KG would get the most out of Odom.

Well, I just remembered that Artest and Odom are good friends from childhood---so if they go after Marion, at least Clev wont get him.

If this is true (Wojo alert! Skepticism levels elevated!), I'm sure Mrs. Turkoglu gave hubby a piece of her mind when he originally accepted Portland's offer (she is reportedly a big fan of Toronto).

Toronto is definitely a more cosmopolitan, international city than Portland. That said, having lived in Portland for the last nearly 8 years, the Rose City is one of the most progressive and liveable cities in the country. He's also passing up one of the most rabid basketball cities in the league for a hockey town, not to mention the divergent state of the two franchises.

Frankly, I think Portland dodges a real bullet. Turkoglu is not the best expenditure of their cap space.
