Wow, I didn't expect that. I would love to see him back, and didn't he say it's up to the C's to sign him? He was probably holding out for a portion of the MLE. But no thanks. Either vet minimum, or another team.

So which players are possible backup PGs right now? Eddie House? Who's going to play SG then? Please don't tell me Tony Thug...

I like Marbury but he clearly overvalues his own abilities.  He was probably expecting at least the LLE, and that's more than we can afford to give him.  We still have house, and we can get another decent backup PG (C.J. Watson would be great....). 

Who knows, maybe this will give Pruitt a shot if he can show us some good stuff in summer league.

Anyway, I'm disappointed Marbury won't be with us, but he's not worth more than the minimum. 

Maybe we can get Bobby Jackson for the min.  He'd be solid for 10 minutes a night.  That's all we really need.  10 minutes a night.

As we have learned over and over there is no shortage of teams willing to over pay for someone. So I am sure Starbury will find a home.

This is a bigger deal than some think.  Marbury, if he finds his game, gives us another elite talent off the bench.  With every other team stacking up, that's very important.

haaha I knew Brick would be happy about this, but who is going to replace him Tyronne Lou? I still think Marbury will have to accept the Vet Min somewhere, who is going to give him more than that? I still think there is a chance he is coming back.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Starbury was statistically one of the very worst players in the NBA last year, including in the playoffs.  If he thinks that his level of play earned him more than $1.3 million, then more power to him.  Good luck finding some other team to pay him to shoot like crap.

I wonder if the C's could do a trade like this

Bos Sends: TA, Scal, Giddens

OKC sends: Earl Watson ( 6 mil expiring)

He would be a good backup PG and he can defend.

Actually now that I think of it Grant Hill can play the PG position very effectively . If we could just find a PG that can defend and hit down the spot up J it would be a perfect fit alongside Grant Hill.

What if we offered him 2 years at the minimum?  Would he take that?  That way we can always cut him next year if we don't want him.
