Makes me hate the Grizz and Wallace even more. So they roll the dice on someone no one wants because they have a hole at PF because they gave away Gasol because Gasol made too much and they needed the space to trade for someone like Randolph? That franchise needs to go. Stern should force them to OKC and the Thunder back to Seattle.

If I have this right, Memphis ends up with:

Gasol
Randolph
Gay
Mayo
Conley

Plus some decent young bench players.  Randolph puts up his numbers for a couple of years and then become expiring trade bait and by then the young players are actually ready to compete.  Doesn't this end up being Darko for Randolph?  There is plenty of reason to get on Chris Wallace but not for this one.

Well the Knicks looked good on paper too when they got Randolph. I'd be scared of his influence. I'm also not sold on Thabeet. And I think Minny got the better of the Love and Rubio for Mayo trade (Minny also lost Foye)

Leave it to Wallace to have Zach Randolph as your veteran presence on a young team.

2010 Clippers

Baron Davis at $13 million. Blake Griffin at $6.5 million. Eric Gordon at $3 million. Then there 2010 lottery pick, and possibly Al Thornton ($3 mil) if they want to keep him around. That's $25-28 million. The Clippers can have $30-33 million in cap space.

That could create one heck of a team, a legit contender, in Clipper land!

All they need to do now, is to find a way to get rid of Chris Kaman.

Meh. Decent trade at best for .
It's a horrible trade for the Clippers... Besides getting rid of a big man for Camby.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
clippers win that by a country mile. Now if they can move Kaman or Camby for a legit 3 instead of Qrich...

Haha .. wow .. that Zach Randolph contract is almost identical to Pau Gasol.

They weren't willing to pay Pau, but they're willing to pay Randolph? Unbelievable!

Wallace is a disgrace.

When does Randolph's contract expire?  If it's before 2010 then it isn't so bad.  But I'm assuming it doesn't, hence why the Knicks got rid of him.

This must be April Fools but three months late.  It's almost like you can see the list of the three most stupid teams in the league:

3.  The Knicks (under Zeek)
2.  The Clippers
1.  The Grizzlies

Missing is the Bucks at number 4, just a waste of a team.

How can they dump Gasol to get away from his salary (was it $12 Mil at the time?) and trade for Randolph who is worse but making more money?  Wallace must be getting more from the Clips to do this deal.  Draft picks, Al Thornton, something?!  Granted, they need a power forward, but Randolph?  Couldn't they have signed Milsapp for half his price?

Great move by Mike Dunleavey and the Clips. Randolph is a cancer and they needed to get rid of a big to free up minutes for Griffin.

Chris Wallace is a disgrace. I'm still convinced he gave Gasol to the Lakers becauseo f how much the C's had coveted him and in an attempt to prevent us from winning the title last year.

Funny think is this trade was in place on draft day, but Sterling vetoed it. Marko Jaric might have been involved though and Sterling was adamant he didn't want to spend one more cent on Jaric. lol.

Yes Randolph is a knuckle head. But he has some major skills. What can Q rich do? Yikes. Memphis had the cap space to get a good player they probably realized that no big free agents would come there way next year anyway so why no get a young 20/10 forward to become your best player. I like it for them.

Because if they had shown some patience, they could have gotten a better player then the over payed stat hanger they got.

Z-bo isn't any more selfish that the players they already have.  The only two guys on that team who play team ball are Conley and Gasol.  The rest have no conscience whatsoever, so  Randolph will fit right in.
