Great news. I like this approach over last year.
Hope we get it done.

Of course, we could send a crew from CelticsBlog as well. Except for Roy because we'd probally need a lawyer to bail us out afterwards.  ;D

I remember rooting for this team during years when the roster was full of nobodies. Just potential guys who needed to prove themselves. The kind of players no one knew outside of boston.

I never thought all of these players would play here at once, hope it happens:

kevin garnet, ray allen, rasheed wallace, stephon marbury, grant hill, obviously paul pierce. (rondo soon the be a star and i could see perk being voted into an allstar game by coaches.)

if that happened, could we still resign baby this year(financially)?

yes...baby is is in play...bird rights means he won't cut into MLE...i expect them to let baby get an offer and set his market..then if it isn't too much they resign him

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Could it be we'll have bench by the start of the season for once?

I hope this is legit and not based off something from one of the deli guy's regulars or something.

I really doubt they will resign BBD if they sign Rasheed. Rasheed will be backing up both the Center and PF positions which would mean he would be playing 25-30 mins a game. That leaves not much playing time for BBD if any. Plus anything they sign BBD for will be doubled because of the luxury tax.

If we resigned Marbury, then got Sheed and Hill...

we would have a total of 41 All-Star selections on our roster  :o  :o  :o

We'll need more than one backup big man, that's for sure.  If any one of KG/Perk/Wallace get hurt, we're looking at Scal being our only big off the bench...

More depth is required.  If not Davis or Powe, it'll have to come elsewhere.

I still like Hakim Warrick, who can be Paul's primary backup but still block some shots playing PF.  If Memphis ponies up for David Lee, Hakim is gone and we can probably get him cheap if we give him some years.

IF this is true, then one angle that no one is exploring is that this essentially ends any and all speculation that Ray Allen will be traded this season. I mean, you don't send someone out in a recruiting effort and then turn around and shop him around.

I guess this means Ray isn't being shopped.

I think Danny is hoping that Baby is only offer around 3-4 mil from another team this offseason that they could match right away. If offered a pretty penny by another suitor, he would then take that chance on a big like Robert Swift hoping he is healthy a ready to revive his career. Also they would be hoping that Powe comes back & at that point it wouldn't make sense to have Sheed, Baby, Scal & Powe coming off the bench. Swift can fill Baby void with 10-12 min a night. Hopefully of course!
