is a team that I think will offer Iverson a contract.

Mark Cuban won't be scared of taking that risk.

True, but would they want both AI and Terry?  The pretty small at the SG .
He'd play point if Kidd left

Which would be a huge downgrade.
Not exactly seeing as you get points and assists out of Iverson.

But you lose Kidds ability to get the ball in the hands of scorers at the right time.

AI gets assists because he has the ball in his hands for so much of the time.  Not because he is a great passer setting up his guys with their shots.

I still like Iverson too.  Can someone please educate me as to where all this Iverson hate comes from?  Yeah he told the media he'd rather retire than come off the bench for Detroit, BECAUSE HE DOESN'T THINK HE CAN BE EFFECTIVE THAT WAY .  Not saying I think he'd ever fit onto the C's, but give the man the benefit of the doubt, he knows his strengths and weaknesses, he's actually saying the EXACT thing about himself all his critics say.

When I think of Iverson I think of the 2004 Olympics when he was one of the few players in the NBA to get off their %%% and go play for Team USA (the other being Tim duncan).  Yeah we all know how that ended, but imagine if it'd been Kobe and Chris Bosh with a bunch of scrubs in 2008?

AI is about AI.  Always have been.

And it looks like the NBA GMs have figured this out to the point the contenders don't want him because he will not except being a 2nd or 3rd banana, and rebuilding teams don't want him hurting the development of young players by limiting their touches.

I don't get why people think he ruined a team. He never ruined the , Michael  did. Rodney Stuckey didn't  at all last year. Tayshaun Prince had his worst season ever. Sheed didn't want to be there and it showed. AI actually played his heart out last year, took less shots in less minutes. Hit a few game winners and scored about 19 ppg.

But he was unwilling to come off the .

Becuase Michael  wasn't giving him even 20 minutes on the  when he was coming off the .

And that will be different in , Why?

He can't  with Rondo or .  Just to small of a backcourt.
He played shooting guard in 2001 and brought the nobody 76ers to the finals. Look at his numbers, not much has fallen off besides last year but I already explained last year. He could play point when Rondo's out and play with Ray and/ or House. When Rondo's in he can play the 2 and add a lot of scoring. I bet he could give us 15 ppg off the  and still get around 30 something minutes.

Look at the team around him.  Unselfish  that player top level defense and did everything they could to allow AI to be successful on offense.  In an East that was really weak (Raptors and Bucks were the big challenges to them in the playoffs before losing in 5 to LA)

Look at everytime he had another  player next to him.  Their numbers drop.  The team doesn't do well.

And if he only plays when Rondo is out, that's what, 12-18 minutes a game?
I said Rondo or Ray he can play the 2 also. And the only numbers that dropped were Stuckey(because he can't shot) and Rip Hamilton's a little bit.

Reading about how he might be forced into retirement makes me think how amazing it is was not too long ago we almost traded Al Jefferson and all our youth to match AI with Pierce.

If the Knicks don't get Kidd, do they spend that money on Iverson for 1-2 years.  I could see the Knicks maybe signing Iverson for 1 year at pretty good money as a pre-cursor to Lebron.  Iverson would like the limelight in NY, and he would help them sell tickets for that year.

i'd be really impressed with nba gms if he did'nt get a contract. he was asked to stay home for the playoffs. that's just insane. he can't support his team? that's just crazy. he does'nt realize how bad that is?

But the only reason he can't be effective that way is pride. He has the game to be a great 6th man, but his ego gets in the way.

The main point is that teams don't want to deal with the attitude. That is not 'Iverson hate'. That is evaluating a player and making a wise personnel decision.

Iverson is considering the Grizzlies! :o

Quote from: RealGM
Allen Iverson has made it known through his representatives that he is interested in signing with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to multiple sources.

The Grizzlies front office is said to be internally weighing the pros and cons of possibly adding Iverson to the team's youth movement.

I don't know if I like the idea of Iverson stealing minutes from Mayo.  Maybe he can start at the "point" in place of Conley since Mayo is a good ball handler, and Mayo could actually assume the traditional point guard role.

Also, just thought I'd throw this out there but Iverson's personal trainer was on the John Thompson radio show in DC yesterday talking about how Allen is working out extremely hard right now and wants a shot to prove that the failures in Detroit were not his fault.

Anyone else surprised that the Knicks aren't interested in Iverson on like a pricey 1-year deal just to sell tickets for this season before the summer of Lebron?

And for my next prediction (see the last post on page one), the winning Powerball numbers will be 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, and 23.
