KG pleas have worked - Bos is on Sheed's list w/Dal, Orl, SA. Don't count out Lakers, either.

I love Sheed but I'm not a big fan of bringing him in Boston, especially for the full MLE. I think he has shown more bad things than good things during these two last years. Maybe a 6th man role in a contending team would rejuvenate him but it's too much of a gamble in my opinion.

Still, if KG can convince him to come in Beantown without the full MLE it would be great!

I think Mcdyess would probably be a better fit for our 6th man role, but Sheed would do just fine as well.

Just as long as we get one of those two I'll be happy.

You had to figure KG was going to make a strong push to recruit him.  They are good friends and I think they would love playing with eachother.

Quote
There are few players in the NBA Garnett respects as much as Wallace. He looks forward to their matchups. They share a friendship and, according to Garnett, a lot more.

"I see a lot of myself when I see him play and vice versa," said Garnett, after the Celtics' 88-79 Game 1 win. "He plays with energy and his heart and his soul. I commend that. I don't think a lot of guys do that."

The whole article is a pretty good read.

let me speak without any reference to facts, documentation, or confirmed knowledge... heck that is what the internet is for, isnt it?  ;D

wallace has been an unhappy and bad camper the last few years and it has shown in how he plays the game.

but prior to that he did play with passion and he played hard. if if if ainge can sign him, i believe he will bring the "old passion" since even he should see that it makes no sense to go to a team that will push you and demand you work like hell to achieve a championship unless you share their goals.

if all wallace wants is dollars and to play on cruise control, the celtics are NOT the team he would pick.

so if he comes here, i expect a hard playing wallace.

but then again, i believe denial is an important part of our daily diet.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Oh please, Sheed would give our Big3 a boost. Ainge doesn't want this opportunity to slip. Having Marbury, Sheed, and possibly Nocioni with a fired up Kevin the season can't start soon enough.

I think all the people who are skeptical about Sheed have to consider how the Marbury thing played out. First of all, Ainge would have never brought him in if he didn't have decent assurance that Marbury was going to buy into the "team" game. In addition, between Doc and the Big Three, there was enough cohesion and chemistry to keep Marbury in check (though it doesn't seem like it was even necessary).

Same thing is likely to happen if Sheed comes to town. First of all, Ainge won't bring him in without getting some assurance that Sheed will embrace the system and not be a rebel. Of course Sheed is going to have his passion on the court (and get some T's), but Doc and the Big Three (especially KG - who's also known for his passion) should be able to keep Sheed in check.

Besides, all we care about is winning another title, right? Sheed didn't seem to get in the way of the '04 Pistons. Last I checked, his pluses far outweighed his minuses on that championship team...

According to chris "i make no sense" bussard, he's going to CLEV during the ESPN segment of staying or going.

Of course he said artest, sheed AND marion are going to CLEV for the full MLE (the full MLE for each, mind you) during said segment.

I guess the king's team gets triple dips on the MLE  ::)

He'd look good here, for sure, but I think he'll go to San Antonio.  He can start there, would be perfect next to Duncan, and with RJ, Parker, and Manu, they might well be the favorites.

I think I might actually prefer Marion anyway, as he can back up both Pierce and KG.  I'd love another long big, but Baby is surprisingly effective against the behemoths out there, so retaining him would soften the blow.  Seems like Sheed's fallen off a bit in the last couple of years, but either one would be a great get.

He would be very good here if we got him for the M.L.E. and then signed someone like Hill or Barnes for the Minimum we would be set. With our back ups being

Wallace
Baby/Powe
Hill or Barnes/Walker
House/Tony/Giddens
Steph

What the? You wonder how these guys can spend so much time covering the league and get something that simple wrong.

I am for bringing in Sheed, but he does make me nervous.  Unlike Marbury, who had to behave if he wanted another chance in the league, any contract Wallace signs with the C's will likely be his last.  So if he misbehaves, there isn't a financial penalty involved here.  Second, unlike someone like Artest who has yet to win a ring, Wallace got his in '04.  So he doesn't have to prove that he's a winner.  I think that may affect his decision about coming here more than anything.  Unlike Dice who wasn't on the '04 team and might take less money to win a ring, Wallace will likely go to the highest bidder.

Still, as I've said in other posts, Wallace may present the best bang for our buck.  While I'd call Artest and Marion better players than Wallace at this point, I think Wallace + a LLE swingman may get us more for our money than Artest/Marion + a LLE big.
