According to yahoo, Yao may be done for the 2009-2010 season, and that his foot injury could jeopardize his career.

Tough break for the Rockets.  Wonder if this opens any possibilities for the C's with the Rockets if they are going go into rebuilding mode?

Wow. Hate to see this happen to anyone. I feel bad for Yao and Morey. Morey had what looked like a legit contender and it spiraled into his 2 franchise players getting career threatening injuries. Maybe we should try to get Battier or Scola from them. They have to make an effort to rebuild now. They will get nowhere if they linger in mediocrity.

That's a shame, he was really coming into his own this year.  He displayed great tougness in that LA series before going down.

It's really a shame, I like Yao and had nothing against the Rockets. Hopefully now they wont have such a high price on the likes of Battier and/or Artest.

This sucks, i really like yao, he's a great player...and now this.

Sucky news for basketball in general.  :(

on a selfish celtics related note, i wonder if this means they will be more likely to let ron walk and if he settles for MLE money....I know they were planning on trying to keephim earlier, but now, certainly, their outlook has changed...

Wow tough break for the Rockets.  As said Morey made a nice team, just they could never stay healthy.  Too bad for Yao too, he's a good player who brings a very large fan base to the league.

Wow. Bad news. Ilgauskas had a 3-4 year stretch of major foot problems and has been mostly injury free for the last 4-5 years. So, it's possible for Yao to comeback. But I think the odds are against him. I was starting to think he might become one of the great ones. Now, I'm not sure he'll get a chance to prove his greatness...

Terrible news for a great ambassador of the game. Really sorry to hear this news. I'd love to be able to pick up Battier in a salary dump type move for the Rockets but I seriously doubt we have anything they want other than Rondo and Rondo shouldn't be headed out of town for a downgrade at the PG position and a great backup.

Sadly that is exactly the type of trade people seem to want.....
