The Timberwolves would like to announce that despite their radio silence, they have signed Joe Smith to a 5 year $125 million deal. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

In addition they'll respond tonight to any trade offers.

Like a junkie with street drugs, we can also be enticed with extraneous first round picks, as well as 4-6 rounders.

The Orlando Magics would like to remind folks that "loose lips sink ships".

Also we open and close all trade talks with TPs

The Magics have talked with lots of teams about deals (even agreeing in principle to one) and look forward to talking to your team :)

We've got the sandwich picks between the even and odd rounds. PM us!

Washington - The Washington Boxers in a press conference yesterday officially revealed to the public their new logo and their new alternate jersey that the team will be wearing for the first 20 away games this year. Also revealed during the press conference was this tidbit from team President and General Manager Nickagneta:

"Ownership at this time feels that the the team has out grown the Verizon Center and are currently looking at a new home to move to in the next year. The people of Baltimore have been looking for a basketball franchise for a long time and are in negotiations with the Boxers for a move somewhere in the southern suburban Baltimore area. If the team does move the team is contemplating a future name change to either the Washington-Baltimore Boxers or the Baltimore Boxers."

When pressed further Mr. Nickagneta had no further comment.

Philadelphia - AP - Rumor had it that the Philadelphia ownership was researching a new team name for the NBA franchise.  When the fans caught wind that the rumored new name would be changed from the Philadelphia 76ers, to the Philly Cheesesteaks, riots broke out in the streets.  This led the ownership to have a change of heart and make an official statement; "There were never any intentions of changing the name of the great Philadelphia 76ers franchise or any type or relocation, we are here for the fans and expect to have a great season with the fourth overall pick in the draft...Please contact box offices for season tickets packages, they are going fast."

Actually from that poll on that page, it's kinda sketchy how Houston was picked to win the division but when voting for playoffs came they weren't voted in hmmm.

I think this year the 3 teams who are voted to win each division, should be put into a separate vote for the top 3 playoff seeds.

...wait it was done that way, just the voting changed from the first time to later times.  Sorry it's been a year  ;D

Buffalo

Rebus Rankin, GM of the Buffalo Braves flatly denied a rumour that the club had offered a coaching position to former Clipper Benoit Benjamin. Rankin stated, "We're trying to erase ties to the mismanagment of the past that occured after our franchise left Buffalo . Its a new era for this team. Besides like we'd want a guy around who was a colossal draft bust like Benjamin. The guy once told a teammate not to take things so seriously. There's no room for that kind of attitude in the Braves organization."

On a related note, the Houston Rockets may be inclined to move their 6th round pick (20).

The Washington Boxers are still willing to listen to deals for 2nd through 4th round picks. Please PM me I'm willing to move my 3rd and 4th for a high enough second rounder and will work with you for 3rd and 4th rounders.
