Hedo is opting out so he can get more money.  That means he's gonna go somewhere for a lot more than he's worth or else he'll resign with the Magic for more.  He's not going anywhere for the MLE.

I don't know who exactly is going to pay him.  I'm looking through Hoopshype's salary section, and most teams are over the cap.  The only teams under the cap by any substantial amount are Atlanta, Detroit, Memphis, New Jersey, Oklahoma City, Portland, and Toronto.  And between other players out there and the fact that most of those teams are probably going to try to save their money for the LeBron/Wade/Bosh summer of next year, are teams really going to throw big money Hedo's way?  I'm not so sure?

Hedo will test the market and then if nobody else is willing to pay him he'll probably resign in Orlando.  He's not going to take the MLE somewhere.

He's seeking a salary around 11 million per. I think one of the teams you mentioned will give it to him.

What about a S&T with Portland.
Hedo (S&T $8M/yr, 3 yrs)+ Anthony Johnson ($2M)

for
T. Outlaw + Steve Blake + ~$2M trade exemption from S. Rodriguez
Celtics fan for life.

Portland should have enough cap space to sign him at 8 million without doing a trade at all.

Yeah, I think Portland will be one of the place in the hunt to sign him.  They'd be a scary team with Hedo.

He's a good player and I hope he goes to a western conference team not named the Lakers.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Tough call though.  Though I think teams are foolish if they think that a good rebuilding plan is destroying your team on the outside chance LeBron or Wade opts for free agency and the even more remote chance he chooses their team, I feel like a lot of teams will do that.

I like Hedo, but I think that temptation to make a run at LeBron next year is going to slow teams down this offseason.

Hopefully that works to our advantage this year.

Portland needs a PG. Although 6'10, Turks is basically a point guard. Man that would be one heck of an experiment starting a 6'10 point guard.

PG/Turk
SG/Roy
SF/Webster
PF/Aldridge
C/Oden

Reportedly they are getting Hinrich who is a solid starting PG and could also back up SG.

Imagine this:

Hinrich / Blake / Bayless
Roy / Fernandez / Webster
Hedo / Outlaw / Batum
Aldridge / Frye
Przbylla / Oden

Pretty good team, huh?

The point of him resigning is because he wants more money and because Orlando cannot afford him now with VC.

Personally I don't think Hinrich is an significant upgrade over Blake. Don't know why they are so focused on H.

Interesting.  Though as much as a mismatch it would be for Rondo to guard Turk, Turk would arguably have even more trouble as Rondo would be at the rim by the time Turk even took a step.
