Guess it makes sense for both sides, since its obvious don't have money to pay for the players they already have.

Does this mean that they aren't buying the 28th pick from MN which was reported earlier.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

That was a false report, I think. The guy who claimed it (via Twitter) backed off on it yesterday.

I bet Minnesota has another big trade in the works involving draft picks.

I keep thinking that too.  With that many picks, they gotta be looking at getting some talent now over future talent to add with the young guys they have.

Reminds me of what the c's did.  Load trade assets, young talent, expiring contracts, and look to make a big move when the opp presented itself.

Maybe NY had to outbid someone else for the pick.

It is a little surprising that NY paid so much.

The rumoured figures had been much lower, in that $1-1.5mil bracket.

Very good trade for the Knicks. That pick is good value at that money, they can get a nice player on a bargain basement four year contract there.

Isn't that the max you can send in cash anyways? NY probably just offered the most it could because they wanted the pick.

I'd like to see DA buy the pick from New Orleans, and then use it to draft Omri Cassipiri.  The look on Paul Allen's face when that happens would be priceless, and second only to the look he will give when Danny tells him he can have Omri if he wants him, so long as he sends the Cs Outlaw in exchange for Scal.
Celtics fan for life.

The Knicks are like the Yankees. They have money to burn. They're saving a lot of money going from the salaries they were paying under Thomas to Walsh.  They don't have to pay luxury tax on the 3 million either. So for another team the 3 million is an overpay. For the Knicks, they don't care.

Yeah I don't see Portland making any more moves with us after the Darius Miles business. I think Portland is happy with Brandon Roy and will not be dealing with the C's for awhile.

If the right deal was there they would do it. I don't think Portland was mad at Danny for that, we cut him before the regular season after all.
