Rondo was completely the problem in many facets.
He was very good in some games against Chicago, and that's about it. His rebounding was awesome all playoff long, but he had a real problem with consistency especially running our offense, keeping it at a good pace, being a constant threat on the floor, poor defense, and his decision making needs a ton of work.
I like Rondo, but he has a TON to improve on and he's a weak link on the floor too often for my tastes. If Ainge can get good value for him, he should move him.... the Gay trade was a very good one for us.
He let the Magic's PGs (who are quite crappy) to dominate the series. That's completely unacceptable.
we're not in the ORL series if not for Rondo.....first of all.
second, Lewis, Turk and Pietrus were the guys that killed us on the offensive side of the ball, and on defense Ray was consistently bother by JJ Reddick....JJ Reddick!!
let's not completely revise history here.
I could care less if we're in the Orlando series because of how Rondo played in Chicago. I want a player who will play good throughout the whole playoffs.
If we're going to play that game, we don't play against the Magic if it wasn't for Ray's heroics at the end of games... so let's not completely revise history here.
Also, I didn't say that there weren't other players to blame, but that doesn't absolve Rondo's problems and weaknesses and his negative impact on various facets of the game.
Ray Allen was also bothered by an injury that completely disrupts his main strength. Also, Ray Allen is not the one running the offense and dominating the ball... Rondo is. And since Rondo is having so much control in the offense, when it doesn't run as it should most of the blame should go towards him... it also doesn't help when Rondo's defender starts helping off him to bother Ray and Pierce.
Also, Lewis and Turk are 10 times the players than what the weak Magic PG's. Turk didn't really have a good series against us either... a couple of good games, but overall we played him very well.
Lewis we knew he was going to give us trouble entering the series, we had to manage and you do that by exploiting their weakness in the PG position for starters, something we didn't do. And again, that we had trouble in other facets of the game it doesn't absolve Rondo's problems.
