I think Tyreke Evans will be a failure. He's not a point guard and he can't jump. All his drives that worked in college will be getting squatted in the NBA. Rubio will be a top 5 NBA point guard in a few years. Andre miller can be the place holder. If we have to trade Rondo, that's the course to take.

You can put me in the "Evans will be a bust" camp, too. He's not a pure point guard, and he cannot shoot, so he won't be an effective shooting guard, more like a player in the mold of a Tony Allen. And that just doesn't sound appealing to me, not in the lottery, anyway. Danny, what's the infatuation with this kid about?

I know. Tell me about it. I'm not sure why Danny falls for this type of player. At least Tony can finish above the rim. Evans isn't really even athletic.

All I'm gonna say is that Rubio looks weak, and that in the first like 2 minutes of that first highlight video (all I could stand watching; what kind of song is that for highlights) posted by the OP he looks really unathletic, and the competition he's playing looks like it sucks. Maybe its better than college, I haven't seen much Euro ball, but it looks like its awful.

The first time I watched that film I had the same thoughts. The song is awkward, but you are doing yourself a dis justice (however you spell that) quitting after two minutes. It really picks up when the music picks up. The second half has some phenomenal footage. Do me a favor and at least watch it one time all the way through.

I Mean, I like Free Bird... its just not a basketball song.

Things that bothered me about that video after watching it all the way through:

1. at the 51 second mark he does a chest bump with his teammate and gets thrown backwards like a rag doll. A sign that he is physically weak. Of suspect physical strength.

2. His jump shot looks really awkward at the 1:20 mark.

3. starting at 4:53 what's up with all those set shots? That's gonna be hard to get off over NBA players. And a lot of those deep looking 3's where just NBA 3's because the line is close. Still good range, I guess.

4. 7:56 I don't understand how losing the ball and after a steal and then managing to get it back is a highlight. Rondo did that against Rafer Alston this year and we were all ****ed. 8:08 that layup would've gotten destroyed by Lebron Josh Smith Dwight Howard Pietrus pretty much anyone in the NBA. And he finishes in that style practically all the time--that's a bad sign.

5. He still looks pretty unathletic.

6. His ball handling doesn't look good at all. He's bouncing the ball really high and the speed to the dribble (and to the player) just isn't there.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Wow I hope not. Talk about a downgrade. He averaged like what in Euroleague? 9 points 4 assists?

It was higher than that, but I wonder what Derrick Rose would have averaged as a HS senior if he played in that league.

That's his whole thing.  He was so young.. yeah but he didn't really do anything.. yeah but he was young what do you expect and he throws some behind the back passes... but the players he are playing against couldn't beat a really good college team.  Well he was really young...

Please Danny ( not even worried to be honest ) stay with the program and no major moves.

Disagree on that. Also, Rubio was HS age playing against men, many of whom were stars on their NCAA teams.

And what did he do in that league.  The extrapolations with this kid are amazing.  The NBA is about 10X better than the players he was playing against.

He put up very respectable numbers. Numbers that I don't feel CP3, Deron, Rondo, or Rose would have necessarily topped during their HS senior years. I mean if he played for Oak Hill Academy and averaged 25 points and 16 assists a game would that have made him a better prospect?

Yes he would but, I sincerely doubt he would have.

So you've changed your mind then and are now a fan huh? ;)  Thanks for watching it all the way through though. TP for that. :)

Andre Miller, Ricky Rubio
Ray Allen, Eddie House
Paul Pierce, Rudy Gay, Bill Walker
KG, BBD, Powe, Scal
Perk, McDyess

If we "have" to trade Rondo, this team is still the favorite next year. In a few years when the big three aren't leading us anymore.

Rubio
Gay
Durant
Big Al
Perkins

(ok kidding about the last part, but I do think a team with Rubio would be very attractive to FA's)

there is absolutely no chance the celtics trade rondo and get rubio. the thought of having an 18 year old pg on a team like the celtics, with ray allen, pp, and kg, is just ridiculous. If they trade Rondo, they will get a PG who has been in the league and is a proven player. Rubio will never be on this team. End of story.

I know it's the "end of story," but I'm taking a big risk and writing. If you have to trade Rondo, bringing in andre miller, rubio, and gay sets you up great fro next year and the future. Maybe if you want to get even more creative, substitute Kidd for Miller but I think Miller is more realistic.

I think Rubio will be a major bust.

If we're trading Rondo it has to be for someone better than Rubio.

I think if we do the Conley/Gay/#2 trade we shouldn't draft Rubio. We will bring in a vet like Miller or Kidd to play the point and have Conley as our future. It doesn't really make sense to have 20 year old and 18 year old point guards on the same team, especially a championship caliber. We could take the second pick move down, grab Steph Curry to back up Ray. We would then have a bench of Conley/Curry/Gay/BBD/Free Agent Center. Gay could play some 2/3 and 4 curry could play 1 and 2 which would lessen the minutes of Pierce and Ray.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I don't think Memphis would give up the #2 and Gay. They might give up the #2 and Conley. We could maybe swing Conley to Portland for Outlaw and Blake (if the Hinrich to Portland rumor is true).

What about Andre Miller or Jason Kidd as the place holder for two years?
