Rondo for Rubio is terrible for a team trying to win this year.

Needs to be a PG that can step in and play at the very least.

Well remember, I'd prefer to keep Rondo, BUT it seems like that isn't happening. I don't want to give him up for some of these players we're hearing about. Rubio actually I believe will be a top 5 pg in a few years.

Andre miller would be the place holder and maintain our goal of winning the title this yr.

Wasn't Carlos Arroyo amazing in the international game but nothing but a reserve PG in the NBA?

Different style of games.  Sometimes, players good in one style not so good in the other style.

Not saying this is Rubio, but...

I have nothing against those European players who are actually men and actually have the musculature to compete in the NBA. I only have something against weak little kids who put up who put up 9 and 4 against a lower tier of competition.

Ricky Rubio put up 10 and 6 on 42% 3P shooting and 80% FT shooting as a 6'4", 180 lb. 18 year old in the second best professional league in the world. Rajon Rondo put up 11 and 5 on 27% 3P shooting and 57% FT shooting as a 6'1". 170 lb. 20 year old sophomore in the NCAA, which is a lower tier of competition than Euroleague.

Not saying Rubio's gonna be great or better than Rondo this year (Rondo hits his two point shots, Rubio doesn't finish nearly as well - that's one big issue right there) or down the road, but I just disagree with the rationale you're giving. Rubio may be overhyped and may be a bit risky as a number 2 pick but his stats in Europe don't point toward him failing - they actually point toward him succeeding.
Go Celtics.

All I'm gonna say is that Rubio looks weak, and that in the first like 2 minutes of that first highlight video (all I could stand watching; what kind of song is that for highlights) posted by the OP he looks really unathletic, and the competition he's playing looks like it sucks. Maybe its better than college, I haven't seen much Euro ball, but it looks like its awful.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

The first time I watched that film I had the same thoughts. The song is awkward, but you are doing yourself a dis justice (however you spell that) quitting after two minutes. It really picks up when the music picks up. The second half has some phenomenal footage. Do me a favor and at least watch it one time all the way through.

Wow I hope not. Talk about a downgrade. He averaged like what in Euroleague? 9 points 4 assists?

It was higher than that, but I wonder what Derrick Rose would have averaged as a HS senior if he played in that league.

That's his whole thing.  He was so young.. yeah but he didn't really do anything.. yeah but he was young what do you expect and he throws some behind the back passes... but the players he are playing against couldn't beat a really good college team.  Well he was really young...

Please Danny ( not even worried to be honest ) stay with the program and no major moves.

Danny already set it up, He said he is not that high on Rubio and he love Tyreke Evans. If you ask me he's saying this now so if he does have a chance to draft one or the other he is taking Evans.
His whole interveiw on WEEI today was just a set up for what he's going to do.
Think about, he down talks Rondo publicly and then he says Rubio is not as good as Evans and Rubio is more of a project. He went as far as saying Rondo cost them games with not having a jumper and that he is not a max salary guy!
Where trading Mephis ...
Rondo
Ray
Scal and fillers

For..
Gay
Conley/ I wish it was May
#2 pick Evans
It would be nice if we could work in Gasol.

If that's the trade I'm on board full steam ahead.

Disagree on that. Also, Rubio was HS age playing against men, many of whom were stars on their NCAA teams.

And what did he do in that league.  The extrapolations with this kid are amazing.  The NBA is about 10X better than the players he was playing against.

He put up very respectable numbers. Numbers that I don't feel CP3, Deron, Rondo, or Rose would have necessarily topped during their HS senior years. I mean if he played for Oak Hill Academy and averaged 25 points and 16 assists a game would that have made him a better prospect?

I think Tyreke Evans will be a failure. He's not a point guard and he can't jump. All his drives that worked in college will be getting squatted in the NBA. Rubio will be a top 5 NBA point guard in a few years. Andre miller can be the place holder. If we have to trade Rondo, that's the course to take.
