Boston trades Rondo, gets pick #2 and Travis Outlaw
Memphis trades pick #2 and Mike Conley, receives Rondo
Portland trades Outlaw, receives Conley (so that he can reunite with Oden).

If I could turn Rondo into Rubio and Outlaw, I would probably do it.  I like Rondo-- he's a great player when he feels like it-- but he is not a good fit for Rivers' system since in the halfcourt game teams will continue to exploit his reluctance to shoot the jumper.

But can Rubio step in and lead the C's to a title next year?  Because quite frankly, I don't care how good Rubio is going to be if he achieves that greatness after the Big Three are on the decline.

Pierce and Garnett are the ones who will step in and lead them to a title.  Rubio will be an important piece.  Rondo isn't going to lead them to a title either.  And in two years Rubio, who is 6-5, will be an all-star, while Rondo may still be a wannabee all star at 10 million a year.

There is so much information out there about Rubio both pro and con.  I sure hope Danny knows better than all of us because I have to admit at this time of year that I'm no talent scout.

A deal that makes sense for everyone involved. I LOVE Travis outlaw. Plus 2nd overall pick. (it has to be James harden or Johnny Flynn) we need ready to play guys not projects. But you never know Rubio might turn out to be a great player. It might be too good to be true.

Nice trade. A++

  • Rondo = Good
Can we stop talking about trading Rondo?  It ain't happening this year.

At least Ray trades have a small kernel of possibility.

Out of most of the trades I've seen thrown out on here, I like this one the most. But I still don't think it would give us a better chance to win. You can't break up that chemistry; however, I do think Rubio is NBA ready and able to play championship level ball.

To say it ain't happening this year with all that is floating around the rumour mill might be a little naive at this point.

Ray is certainly being shopped even if just to feel everyone out.  I agree with you there.

Brickowski is right. Rondo would be better in an uptempo offense. Halfcourt game shows too much of his flaws.

Travis outlaw is a stud, and we get a 2nd overall pick. Job well done Brickowski.

I wonder if Portland is still keen on Conley. I know they want an upgrade from Blake at PG, but younger is probably not what they are going for.

If so, I could see them expanding their rumored trade with New York, involving Sergio Rodriguez.

Isn't Outlaw from that area?   Why wouldn't the Grizzlies just trade Conley for Outlaw AND draft Rubio or Evans?

He is. Question is whether Portland would give up Outlaw for Conley, when they have Blake, Rodriguez, and Bayless at PG.

Well yes, but Conley is special.  He will bring the best out in Oden (at least in theory).  The Blazers are already trying to move Sergio.  As for Bayless, he played a total of ten minutes in the Blazers' 6-game playoff series against Houston, so something tells me that he's not viewed as their pg of the future.

Rondo would be phenomenal in an uptempo offense. But who knows, maybe in a few years after Ray and Pierce and KG are gone, that will be the type of offense that we'll have. I could see one of Giddens or Walker thriving in that system too. Rondo will be like 25 only then still.
