Just throwing this out there to see what you guys might think of this:
http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=5122302Add to that their #1 pick.
Reading around it seems that the Clippers would be willing to trade their first pick if it gets Davis off their hand.
So, is this a good enough package? If it's good enough, would you do it? If it's not good enough, what tweaks could you make to make it happen?
Motivation for the Clippers are adding a very promising young guard in Rondo and an expiring contract with Ray Allen who happens to be an all-star. They get into a much better salary cap situation (which is probably a huge motivation for them) as they will have Baron Davis off their books, and I doubt they want Ricky Davis around (plus they won't have to pay for the first pick).
Motivation for the Celtics is adding Baron Davis who although deteriorated last year, has been capable of carrying a team, and a huge offensive threat. He's a big strong PG which I like. He's also a very good friend of Pierce. The you get a young promising SG in Eric Gordon, you don't lose much as far as the backcourt goes. Then you get the #1 pick with a 6'10'' PF.
Thoughts and ideas?
