thanks, quite often on this board Tmac get ripped and i think people forget how special a player he really was.  he was a legit mvp candidate for a few years and was one of the most spectacular players in the league.

now somebody just has to make me a steve francis thread

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
He could've been better than Kobe...

Orlando T-Mac was the true beast.

Every year since being traded he started taking his game further and further away from the basket.

Ever since he hurt his back he's been a shell of himself.

Stupid back injuries....

I was shocked, SHOCKED, not to see more highlights from his big playoff wins. Or how he made teammates better... The guy is a waste...

Funny they said the same things about Kevin before he came to Boston.

People still said the same things you just did about T-Mac. Especially since he missed the playoffs for several years after that WCF final run.

But if you'd like wind back the clock to 2003. Was KG a waste because he didn't make teammates better back then, and couldn't get out of the first round in the west?

But McGrady had help the last couple of years and instead of that team taking off, he made them worse.  They only played well when he was not on the floor.

If you went back over the last 15 years at the 1000+ players to have played in the NBA and ranked them on a) making their teammates better and getting the most out of them  b) playing the game with effort and c) getting the most out of their talent, KG would rank in the top 1%, perhaps #1, and McGrady would be at or near the bottom. Battling it out with Stevie Franchise. When he got hurt, his team played better. He's a complete waste.

Uh T-Mac never played with Steve Francis until 2007-2008 by then Francis was shell of himself. They were traded for each other.

I agree that KG is a great player, but all that you said about T-Mac was said about Kevin. Being a good player isn't enough to win in the NBA, you need a good team around you.

I never said that Francis and McGrady played with each other.

No one has EVER said about KG what i'm saying about McGrady - he's a waste, he doesn't care, he doesn't get the most out of his talent, he doesn't play hard, he doesn't make his teammates better, he doesn't give an honest effort. T Mac has a great team around... the Rockets were better without him. Minus TMac, that team is better. He's a detriment to that team.

This year he was hurt and a shell of himself. I have my doubts whether he will recover. But he couldn't guard anyone, that is why the Rockets were better without him this year.

I'm sorry I misinterpreted "battling it out with Stevie Franchise"

You are still wrong on this, T-Mac was a great player until he hurt his back in Orlando. Since then he has merely been good because of all the injuries. His team's lack of success has little to do with him being a "loser" or "selfish". They've almost always been the less talented team. (The Utah series with Yao and him both probably is the exception still Utah was a rather good team too)
