I know it puts us in Salary Hell but he is younger than Ray under contract for 3 more season like KG and is a better player, can play D when motivated and we know KG can motivate D.

The Nets want cap space and Ray would play well for one year with Harris and the drive and kick game.

If hte Cs get Williams he can be a long shot blocker off the bench just what we need.

Replace Williams with Boone and demand a draft pick.

Boone is too ugly to have on the Cs, on TV too many times.

That never hurt Bird.

If we did one of those trades with Ray for a high pick and expiring contracts we could then use the expiring contracts to get Vincanity and then we also get the high draft pick.

Here's a link from Chad Ford syaing what it will take to get them.

"Obama (Washington DC)

what would it take for Nets to deal Vince Carter to the Wizards
Chad Ford

I think they'd do it for just about anything that didn't cost the Nets a lot of money. the Wizards have the expiring contracts to make it happen ... if they are going for it ... they should consider it.I think No. 5, Mike James, Etan Thomas and Darius Songaila should do it."

So we could send Songalia, James, Thomas, Tony and Scals for Vince and another bad contract like say Najera.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

This is not a terrible trade as long as the Celtics take advantage of NJ's desire to cut payroll.

Ray for Carter, Boone and a 1st would have to be something to think about.

this is true. Plus with Carter and Pierce we would have two players that cant create their own shot. And we would get "younger" becuase Carter is STILL an atheletic freak.

Then when we get Carter finding a large crate, a pacifier and a bib and shipping him off to Antarctica when we get him would also be something to think about.

Carter as a 2nd or third option is a good player.

  • Rondo = Good
Carter, Dooling, and Simmons or Hassel.  Maybe Williams too.

That's what I'd want in return for Ray Allen from the Nets.

We could throw in guys like T Allen and Scal to make the salary work.

Actually I'd be excited if we made that trade.

Carter, Pierce, Garnett as the new Big 3 with Rondo as a potential Big 4th and Dooling as our backup 1 / 2 and Simmons as our wing reserve.  Sounds good to me.  Sign a backup big with the MLE and we're in good shape.

You mean... two players that CAN create their own shot.

P.S. Don't bag on Vince Carter.  The guy has been at 19 or better PER for the last decade or so.  The guy's a star, and however he may have acted on previous teams, I'm sure he'd work hard if he were here (like Ray has done).

Last time I checked, Vince Carter was a loser.  Also, last time I checked, Ray Allen could create his own shot: it's just that the C's often don't let him do it.  Case in point, his break down of Sasha in the 2008 Finals.

Carter has had similiar success as all three of the Celtics stars had before they cam togther.

Ray is still underutilized on this team.
