Long story that I'll try to make a bit short. I was on Facebook one day looking to see if there were a lot of other people with my last name on there. I found one guy in England who had the same first name and was off one letter on the last name (his name was spelled the way my name is very commonly mispronounced). I ended up having some back and forth conversation with the guy. He's in a decently popular band and is a comedian as well.
A few days ago he posted something looking for an American with a deep voice. I did some radio work in a past lifetime, so I chimed in.
He was working on a film with his buddy based on a character they had developed - Dick Biscuit. Dick is a detective with an odd obsession for Kurt Russell. The scene I did was the voice for a trailer that occurs while Dick is dreaming.
I did the voice in one take using a webcam. It could have been polished up some, but they liked it enough as is.
I just marvel at the scope of the internet. Really crazy that I was able to collaborate on something creative with someone that far away, who I've never met in person.
They will be showing the entire film at the Edinburgh Film Fest in Scotland in July.
