I'm no expert so no need to flame, but let me know why these may not work financially:

1. Re-sign Marbury for cheap/short money
2. Sign Marvin Williams for the full MLE
3. Zaza/Gortat: would either be available for the LLE? Sign and trade (read next)?
4. Let BBD walk (s and t for one of the above?)- sign McDyess for the minimum

Rondo/Marbury/House
Ray/House/TA
Pierce/Marvin/Walker
KG/McDyess/Scals
Perk/Gortat or Zaza

Marvin the 6th man with positional versatility.  Gortat/Zaza give us length at C behind Perk.  McDyess- enough said, ideal guy to come in for KG/Center.

I may be over the roster size limit here; flip TA/Scals/Giddens expirings for someone making 5 or 6 mil whatever it is.  That could be another big piece.

Thoughts?  Suggestions?  Reasons why this isn't doable?  Who could that 3 for 1 guy realistically be?

I think you are optimistic about (2).  I think Atlanta would match the MLE for Marvin.  It will take the full MLE for Gortat, and probably close to that for Zaza, but I like both suggestions.  Also, I agree with your unstated assesment that BBD and McDyess are in many ways substitutes for each other.  In my mind, the Cs need a long traditional backup C (like Gortat or Zaza) as well as a PF/C that can spread the floor a bit more, the way BBD and McDyess can do.  In a perfect world, great, get both.  But being realistic about constraints, I think that it is one or the other (and I opt for BBD -- younger and knows the system).

If the MLE goes to a big, who can we bring in to spell Pierce this season?  Maybe thats the hole we fill with that 3 for 1?  Didnt realize Marvin was a RFA, thought he was UFA.

Two possibilities: (1) LLE or vet min for a backup SF (some seem to think Grant Hill would be available for that price; if so, I think he would be great).  (2) trade TA+Scal for a backup SF.  Unclear who this would be, but possibly Nocioni or (dare I say it) Posey?

1. Sign Starbury to a very low deal (hopefully less than $1 mil, but i'd be willing to go slightly over).
2. Try to move up in the draft. Possibly Tony Allen and Cash for a early second rounder. Or maybe just straight up buy an early second round pick (Portland has a first rounder and FOUR second rounders, possibly an option there).
3.  With Portland's 33 or 38 we could get a solid player like Danny Green or Dante Cunningham. Or we could nab someone who slipped out of the first round (i.e. Patty Mills, Sam Young, or Derrick Brown).
4. Resign Eddie for $1.5 mil-$2.5 mil
5. Use full MLE on big man (McDyess, R. Wallace, Birdman)
6. Resign BBD as long as it doesnt cost over $5mil
7. Let Powe and Pruitt walk
8. Sign a vet wing (i.e. Hill or Q. Ross or Bogans) to a minimum deal

Rondo/Marbury/House
Ray/Brown
PP/Hill/Scal
KG/BBD
Perk/Birdman

not a huge improvement over last year, but it still improves the bench slightly. Hill is an upgrade on the wing, and Birdman (or Dice) gives added length, defense, and scoring downlow that MIkki just did not have. With the second round pick, maybe we could take a young point instead (like Patty Mills or Darren Collison or Curtis Jerrells) to groom as Rondo's permenant back up.

I like your ideas, but they're not the most realistic.  Marvin Williams' qualifying offer is more than the MLE.  As great a fit as he would be, we're not going to get him.

Gortat/Zaza will be more expensive than the LLE as well.  Both are huge and able players in a league full of teams that are eagerly desiring just that type of player.

McDyess is an unpredictable guy, but I can't see him signing for the minimum.  He pretty much averaged a double-double last year and could improve any contender's rotation or start for any non-contender.

Shamsports.com has a great salary page that makes this sort of stuff quick, easy and entertaining to look into.  I recommend you look it up.

Keeping Marbury, House and Big Baby.
Picking up Birdman and Hill as well as buying a late 1st early 2nd draft pick is my favorite option (excluding an absurd trade that brings us an all star without giving up a starter, I like that the best). If we end up doing what you suggested I will be very happy.
Also if our team is constituted like that we need to draft a 4 or 5 with (if Blair falls that's who it needs to be).
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

According to Realgm, New Orleans is shopping their pick at #21 pick. I dont know if we have the money or whatever they are looking for, but that would be ideal. We could get Eric Maynor, Ty Lawson, DaJuan Summers, Derrick Brown, Sam Young, Taj Gibson, or Omri Casspi

I'd Wanna take Lawson to groom as a back up or Dajuan Summers. I see Sumemrs being a young Antoine Walker type player. Before he got fat and decided to chuck threes all day
