What would be really funny would be if Buss was like "Yes! Now I can sign some other self-inflated player for the max. Hey Leeeebbbbrrrrooooonnnnn......Ohhhh Lebrooooooonnnnnn. Here Lebron. Good boy. Come and get it"Then no other team can afford to give Kobe what he makes now and he ends up playing for Toronto for 5 mill less than he has now.
Kobe is overrated. When will Pau get his due?Lakers post-Shaq/ pre-Pau: 0.49 winning pct, two first round exitsLakers post-Shaq/ with Pau: 0.74 winning pct, two Finals appearances.

If Kobe really wants to win more titles and cement his legacy, he'll opt out, leave money on the table, and give the Lakers the room to sign and/or trade for good players to surround him withalso, if he's smart (if this is even an option under the CBA) he'll build in as many opt-out clauses as he can so he can always hold their feet to the fire to keep bringing in players he likesshoot, he should get the title of assistant GM at this point too
