I don't care how many rings Kobe will
get. To me he'll always be a loser.

TP.
Celtics fan for life.

Why you gotta hate on Kobe?  Even if you don't like the lakers game gotta recognize game.

If I was an egocentric little brat,
I'd give Kobe props. I'm not, so...

I have got to say that I didn't see anything wrong with the way Kobe celebrated.  The man was happy.  Everything that occurred way back when the whole Shaq/Kobe/Phil drama was going on about 6-7 years ago, when the Lakers had to choose whether to keep Shaq or Kobe as the centerpiece, to which they decided to keep Bryant, that move was made for what happened just a few nights ago by LA winning the championship.  I am not a Laker fan or mild supporter by any means.  In addition, I do not like Kobe's persona as well. But I can give credit where credit is due.  He has his "Batman" championship, he didn't throw anyone under the bus this season, acted like a true captain/leader.  He was more supportive of his teammates, got them more involved offensively, rather than feeling he, himself, had to be a constant gunner.  In regard to his actions after the final game ended, as I said, he was just happy.  KG/Pierce/Allen, most notably KG, had monkies on their backs for having been in the league for so long & not having any championships to show for it.  When KG ran and kissed midcourt, screamed "Anything's possible!!" We here at the blog didn't say "Just a bit over the top..."  or when he stole the classic line from "Rocky II" of "besides my kid being born, this is the greatest day of my life."..nobody said, "Now he's stealing lines...how original" as many people are saying "Kobe just wanted to copy Jordan."

Kobe's monkey was trying to get a championship where he was the sole centerpiece on the team.  It was HIS team.  In order for him to get the monkey off his back, he had to win the championship...and he did.  All the mental stress that must've brought him from people saying "He had Shaq during the first 3."...that was all released.  I don't think he overacted at all.  That was years worth of frustration, struggle, propaganda getting spread around being released.

Good post, TP. Still hate Kobe though
and I will until they carry me out.

Did anyone else think Kobe was over acting when the lakers won? He was jumping up and down like he just hit a last second shot to win game 7 to me. The game was well in hand.  The act Just seemed a bit contrived.

Maybe I'm just ****ed a terrible human being like him won.

Ummm...The Celts had the clinching game in hand midway through the 2nd period last year.

Was KG's "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE" scream pure spontaneity?
Yup

I'd just as soon stomp Kobe's junk into the dust as look at him.  They won this year. Great. Now enjoy my boot in your jibblies.

aint that the truth..i never ever ever hear any Lakers fans give anyone but Kobe any respect.  I argued with my friends for nearly an hour about how good Paul Pierce is and I got nothing but oh he cant jump and he looks goofy when he plays.  Game doesnt recognize game when it comes to hotheads.
The NBA..where "this whole sport is a business and the referees decide games and David Stern is a snake and is only in this for the money" happens.

Nope and I cringed at that. Doesn't change Kobe's Histrionics. It's not like he won the Olympics that night.  ;)

Kobe celebrated after Game 5? Wow I didn't know that.  Why should I.   My TV was turned off with 2 minutes to play in the game.  I only watch when the Celtics celebrate.
