I don't care how many rings Kobe will
get. To me he'll always be a loser.

The guy's whole act has seemed contrived since he came into the league and well before the Colorado incident.

From his mannerisms and gestures to even some interviews, this guy has always wanted to be Michael Jordan.  The kid's a heckuva basketball player but his personality just has always rubbed me the wrong way.

The only athlete I can think of that might be image conscious is Alex Rodriguez.

Guys...I loathe the Lakers as much as the next guy however, this thread
comes across as sour grapes. They won...life goes on. We will be there
again next year. Let Kobe have his moment...you dont have to like him
personally (I dont) but you have to respect his talent and drive.

Ridiculous thread. The guy was excited. What do you want him to do? Is there anything he could have done that the critics here wouldn't gripe about?

I was glad they won on the road so the couldn't have the enjoyment of winning in front of their home crowd.

He called Bill Russell the "greatest player of all time". I think Kobe is that disgusting a person that he strategically put this in there so he can be considered to be closer to Jordan - who is the greatest of all time.

He also said that those who talk about Shaq being the main man on his previous championship teams "know nothing about NBA basketball" and I think that is a cheap shot. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and we've seen what Kobe has failed to do without Shaq before this year. He became a selfish primadonna who demanded a trade.

I'm really not buying his "nice guy" image. Having said that, I don't think he did anything wrong last night. You can't blame him for that celebration after seeing us do it right in front of his eyes last year. No matter what, that image will stay in his memory.

Actually plenty of things he could have done that wouldn't have been talked about.  Is this thread anymore ridiculous than being glad the Lakers won a title on the road because there is less enjoyment in that? An argument could be made that it is more enjoyable to win a title on the other teams court.

Was that last night? Maybe it had something to do with winning the Bill Russel award from the man himself.

What should he have done he can't jump up and down?

Cry? Roll around on the ground? Whatever it was, Jordan already did it. And so what if he wants to be like Jordan? Probably every active player in the league will admit they wanted to be like Jordan.

I believe you are talking about Jordans championship after his father died.

I'm not saying he shouldn't celebrate, just seemed a bit over the top.

KG was an emotional wreck right after the win. Kobe was calculating and very "image" concious. Both fit right in with their personalities.

No big deal, celebrate how you want you're the champs!

im not surprised his celebration was annoying and over the top, because i deal with lakers fans every day, and 95% of them are annoying band-wagoners who finally start wearing jerseys and putting car flags up when the western conf finals get going.

any celebration for kobe bryant makes me sick, but when you win a title you can celebrate however you want as long as its not taunting the other team
