Did anyone else think Kobe was over acting when the lakers won? He was jumping up and down like he just hit a last second shot to win game 7 to me. The game was well in hand.  The act Just seemed a bit contrived.

Maybe I'm just p---ed a terrible human being like him won.

I guarantee that whole act was premeditated by Kobe.  No way was that spontaneous knowing #24.

"Hmmm....so how am I going to act in front of the cameras when the clock hits :00?  Crumple up into a ball at midcourt and cry?  Fistpump?  Jump up and down?"

Yes it was a disgusting display of catering to the camera. It looked like he was imitating Jordan over Ehlo...

All he ever does is try to imitate Jordan- it's disgusting.  As someone mentioned a long time ago, the difference between Kobe and Pierce is much closer than Kobe and Jordan.  MJ was that much better.

I gotta be honest... I can't knock any player for any championship celebration that doesn't break laws  ;D

The release of all the pressure and sheer elation must be ridiculous. Any champ has worked extremely hard, and deserves to let off steam however they want.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

But Kobe just looked so unnatural! You know what it is? He's so image contiguous after the rape charges that nothing seems genuine from him.

kobe makes me sick - i never have liked the guy - he is a total front-runner and a bad teammate.

anyone read the espn.com article (bill simmons maybe) that analyzed kobe's ability to hit clutch shots in the last two minutes of close games. basically, he is way over-rated in that area.

his % is high - when the lakers are ahead and need a shot to extend a lead. however, his % is much lower than even the average player when his team is behind a needs a tough shot to stay in the game or take the lead. sounds about right for a front-runner like kobe.

I would like to know why all the sports media is acting like Kobe winning his 4th Championship is such a huge deal due to the fact that O'Neal is no longer around. If memory serves me correct, Shaq won a championship without Kobe first. Where was the media then?

Also, wouldn't you be upset if you were Pau and Odom and all you hear is, "Kobe won his 4th title without Shaq" which, reading between the lines, seems like saying Kobe won without any other helpful players.

I dunno, maybe I have had a big glass of Hater-ade and am just bummed about the Minneapolis/LA Lakers winning another title!!

You guys are ridiculous.

Yes it was not fun to watch.

But premeditated? That's ridiculous. No matter what he did - it wouldn't have been normal because it's not normal to win an NBA title.

Who premeditates jumping up and down? It's not like he pulled out a sharpy or a cell phone from his socks and did something dumb! Kobe is without a doubt, the hardest working player in the league. His previous two trips to the finals resulted in losing. The guy was excited, he worked hard for it. He looked like a little kid out there. He got the 800 lb SHAQ off his back - after failing last year - for good reason this ring means more to him than any other.

Also - I think Kobe is a odd duck. Growing in Italy as a professional athlete in training, speaking three languages, skipping college, alienating his coach/teammates, and he is obsessed with winning/basketball to possibly an unhealthy degree - I think he's just a hard person to understand. You never hear about Kobe and his "crew" - you never hear about someone who was friends with Kobe, or his buddies, or anything like that. Because of this, I think he comes off very unpersonable and he probably is - because of his obsession with the game and he just doesnt have that charismatic personality most superstars have.  But that doesn't mean he plans it that way.

The media was all over Shaq winning again before Kobe, and I believe Shaq made that point quite clear himself.

Kobe came out and said on many occasions it wouldnt be possible with out his teammates. He doesnt control the media. The past year or two he's said all the right things. Whether or not he really means it - only he knows. But I think it's clear he's matured a great deal and knows he'll never be Jordan. There is no next Jordan, there no next Larry Bird either.

Odom did have a smart ass comment after a reporter asked him how it feels to win after his previous teams gave up on him and gasol (or something to that effect).
